Avaliação da gestão ambiental das áreas de proteção ambiental do Estado do Ceará

Abstract

The Environmental Protection Areas (APAs) have the purpose of exploitation of the environment in order to ensure the sustainability of renewable environmental resources and ecological processes. And With this intention decided to evaluate the environmental management of 25 APAs in the state of Ceara, through the performance of the municipalities included in protected areas, in urban planning, local enterprise and actions focused on preserving the environment. The research was based on secondary data on the performance of municipal governments in environmental management of their APAs and analyzed these data for the period of 2009. To achieve these goals it was calculated the Index of Environmental Management (IGA), the Index of Urban Planning (IPU), the Index Ventures (EMI) and the Stock Index focused on the Environment (IMA). The result showed that the actions for the environment had great participation in IGA, however, should be taken as restricting the deployments of projects with significant environmental impacts because it have acted in a less expressive. So the lack of policies that suppress these types of enterprises can result in environmental degradation of APAs and consequently serious environmental and social problems.
