Beleza e sofrimento na guerra civil espanhola: Robert Capa entre a estética e a política

Abstract

In 2014, in the centenary of Robert Capa, countless exhibitions recalled the work of the famous photojournalist. This article proposes a dialogue with some photos taken by Capa during the Spanish Civil War, one of the most important war conflicts of the twentieth century. In order to produce a critical knowledge about these images, taking into account their aspects, at the same time, aesthetic, ethical and political, we will undertake here a transdisciplinary view, seeking to recover elements of the biography of Robert Capa, the socio-historical context in wihch the photos were produced, associating them with the aesthetic-philosophical reflections of Susan Sontag, André Rouillé and Fred Ritchin.
