O uso da tecnologia da informação e comunicação na educação superior: o caso do portal docente do sistema de gestão acadêmica da UFC

Abstract

Nowadays we are living a revolution in technology, communication and information. This revolution has affected the education, the institutes of higher education, teaching practice and also his/her relationship with the students. With this study, we aim to investigate the use of Teacher Portal integrant of Sistema Integrado de Gestão de Atividades Acadêmicas – SIGAA by professor of undergraduation courses at Universidade Federal do Ceará. This is a descriptive explanatory research in which the main data were collected in the database of this institution. As it could be verified, the professor from the undergraduation courses of this institution has little knowledge of how to manage Teacher Portal, however with gradual growth of use every semester. There is no significant correlation between the amount of posted files and the age of the teacher. So, an initiative must be implemented by the administration personnel from UFC in order to maximize the use of Teacher Portal among the undergradation professors.
