Abstract: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is currently being studied by various fields due to its prevalence in the school
environment. Individuals with ASD experience difficulties in communication and social interaction, exhibit
restricted interests and repetitive behaviors, and display symptoms that impact their functional abilities in
school, work, and other areas of life. Our objective was to investigate whether Physical Education teachers feel
prepared to intervene with students with ASD. The study involved 19 teachers (age = 36±12 years; female: n =
10, 53%; male: n = 9, 47%) from Physical Education departments in schools across different cities in the country.
We employed a questionnaire consisting of 28 multiple-choice, dichotomous, and open-ended questions. The
survey was distributed to the teachers through social media and email and remained available for a period of 20
days. Our main finding was that a lack of knowledge in their academic training had an impact on teachers' ability
to cater to students with ASD. Specifically, the participants indicated that they did not take any mandatory
courses or engage in teaching internships to become familiar with the reality of working with individuals with
ASD. In conclusion, Physical Education teachers do not consider themselves adequately equipped to facilitate
the inclusion of students with ASD, primarily due to a lack of theoretical and practical knowledge.

Título: Efeito terapêutico do exercício físico sobre o risco cardiovascular, a inflamação e a sarcopenia em pacientes com doença renal crônica em hemodiálise: uma revisão narrativa

Abstract: Chronic kidney disease (CKD), when established, ends up affecting multiple systemic
functions in the individual. The main causes that lead individuals to develop this pathology
are: high blood pressure (34%), diabetes (32%) and glomerulopathy (9%) (DUNCAN et al,
2022). People with chronic kidney disease typically have a low level of physical activity and
physical exercise, which, in general, negatively impacts the functional status of these
individuals and the prognosis of the disease (WILKINSON et al, 2020). The objective of this
work was to review, in the literature, outcomes related to the therapeutic use of aerobic and
resistance physical exercise in the prognosis of CKD in hemodialysis patients. Repercussions
related to cardiovascular risk, systemic inflammation and sarcopenia were analyzed. The
health sciences descriptors (DECS/Mesh) used for the research were: Chronic kidney
disease AND Physical exercise AND Kidney dialysis. To select productions, a search was
carried out in electronic databases: PubMed, Scielo and Lilacs. The search took place during
the months of September to November 2023, being carried out in the databases described
above and their respective virtual libraries, so that researchers could carry out the screening
of titles, abstracts and full readings of the texts. In our research, we can confirm that physical
exercise, aerobic and resistance, are effective methodologies in coping with the negative
outcomes of CKD in its final stages, especially in patients who are already in need of
hemodialysis renal replacement therapy. Physical exercise for people with CKD on
hemodialysis is beneficial, safe, low

-cost in implementation and effective in combating
negative outcomes arising from cardiovascular risk, systemic inflammation and sarcopenia
associated with CKD. Therefore, it is important to disseminate and implement physical
exercise in hemodialysis clinics, with a multidisciplinary team that, in addition to doctors,
nutritionists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, physiotherapists, also includes physical
education professionals as the legitimate and qualified deal with issues relating to physical
exercise, both aerobic and resistance.

Autor(es): Alves, Marcelo Ferro Vasconcelos
Abstract: This work aims to demonstrate the challenges faced when taming large bodies of water in
remote areas of the Brazilian Amazon and pre-Amazon, as well as the interactions with local
communities and the impressions of surfers. The study intends to provide the field of Physical
Education with a broader understanding of surfing the pororoca, exploring its educational
benefits such as cooperation, socialization, leadership, and respect. Surfing the pororoca is a
recent sport practice in Brazil, and few works have been produced to preserve its memory. The
study aims to problematize the history experienced by the pioneers in these twenty years of
work in this phenomenon, providing material for future studies. The overall objective of the
study is to systematize the history of surfing the pororoca, focusing on the Amazonas, Guamá,
Araguari, and Mearim rivers, from the perspective of pioneer surfers from the 1990s to 2019.

Adaptações metodológicas para pessoas com deficiência nas aulas de educação física escolar

Título: Adaptações metodológicas para pessoas com deficiência nas aulas de educação física escolar
Autor(es): Almeida, Pedro Paulo Maia de
Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the methodological adaptations used by physical education teachers to include students with disabilities. Sixteen physical education teachers took part in the study (age: 36±5 years; male: n = 9; 56%, female: n = 7; 44%; length of experience: 2 to 24 years) from the private (n = 3; 18.8%), municipal (n = 5; 31.3%), state (n = 4; 25.0%) and other teachers from more than one education network (Private/State: n = 1; 6.3%, Private/Municipal/State: n = 2; 12.5% and Municipal/State: n = 1; 6.3%). To collect the data, we used a questionnaire divided into questions about the characterization of the participants, Professional Intervention and Methodological Adaptations. Our main results indicate that material adaptations are the most commonly used, with a focus on changing the size, format, weight, color and texture of the materials. Methodological adaptations are also used with a focus on changing teaching objectives and strategies. As for teaching styles, teachers prefer those with an inclusive approach focused on the task and through guided discovery. The main teaching strategies were demonstration, physical assistance and verbal instruction/guidance. Adaptations made to the environment are based on minimal modifications (e.g. sound or tactile references in the environment, etc.). On the other hand, adaptations to the rules of the activities and/or sport and the ways in which students are assessed are made with partial modifications by the teachers. We conclude that the adaptations used by physical education teachers to teach classes for students with disabilities focus on methodological changes, changes to materials, changes to the practice environment, changes to the rules and changes to teaching styles/strategies. Taken together, these adaptive practices represent steps towards ensuring inclusive and equitable experiences for all students in physical education classes.
