Abstract: This research aimed to analyze the institutional functioning of the Specialized Police&#xD;
Stations for Women (SPSWs), articulating normative guidelines with institutional&#xD;
practice. Two studies were conducted: the first consisted of a functional analysis of the&#xD;
Technical Standard for the Standardization of SPSWs (TS-SPSW). The results showed&#xD;
that the Standard provides clear guidelines for most procedures but presents gaps&#xD;
regarding multidisciplinary teams, intersectionality, as well as imprecise descriptions&#xD;
&#xD;
about the required professional training. The second study analyzed the SPSW of Sobral-&#xD;
CE in terms of environmental and material conditions, professional qualifications, and&#xD;
&#xD;
beliefs about domestic violence. The Conjugal Violence Belief Scale (CVBS) was applied,&#xD;
along with an open-ended questionnaire for qualitative analysis of beliefs and a checklist&#xD;
of structural and human resources. The CVBS results were compared with a control group,&#xD;
revealing low adherence to legitimizing beliefs about violence in both groups, with&#xD;
slightly lower levels among the SPSW team. The qualitative analysis confirmed low&#xD;
adherence to legitimizing beliefs about domestic violence and demonstrated understanding&#xD;
of the cultural variables involved. The checklist analysis indicated partial compliance with&#xD;
the standards established in the TS-SPSW: physical spaces were adequate for service&#xD;
provision, but professional training sessions were infrequent, informational materials for&#xD;
the public were absent, and the minimum staffing requirement was not met, leading to&#xD;
work overload and reduced service availability. These findings reinforce the need for&#xD;
institutional investments and the strengthening of SPSWs in order to prevent professional&#xD;
overload and ensure comprehensive, humanized care sensitive to the multiple dimensions&#xD;
of violence against women.

Abstract: Fibromyalgia is a chronic rheumatic condition characterized by widespread pain throughout the body, especially in tendons and joints. This syndrome has no well-defined cause, but it is believed to be related to heightened sensitivity in the diagnosed individual's nervous system, and that the onset of symptoms may occur after psychological or physical trauma. The literature also points to the existence of psychological symptoms that may be present in this diagnosis, such as sleep disturbances, intense mood swings, and high levels of anxiety and depression. Fibromyalgia primarily affects adult women, making it necessary to investigate how the diagnosis impacts gender issues, as well as aspects of daily life, relationships, and mental health. Therefore, this study is justified by the prevalence of women diagnosed in Brazil and by the literature that highlights the influence of chronic diseases, especially fibromyalgia, on the mental health of diagnosed women. Therefore, this study aimed to understand the experiences of women diagnosed with fibromyalgia and living in the city of Sobral, considering the illness process and the impacts of the diagnosis on mental health. An exploratory, qualitative study was conducted with women diagnosed with fibromyalgia for at least three months, over the age of eighteen, and living in Sobral, Ceará. Twelve women participated. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews conducted online via the Google Meet platform. The research was publicized through the social media channels of the Psychology undergraduate program at the Federal University of Ceará, for those who wished to participate voluntarily, using the snowball method. Data analysis was performed using Content Analysis. Factors such as self-esteem, social support, and treatment conditions were found to significantly influence the participants' mental health. By carrying out this study, we hope to contribute to the creation and reflection of public policies aimed at patients with chronic diseases, specifically Fibromyalgia.

      <link>http://repositorio.ufc.br/handle/riufc/85293</link>
Abstract: Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is recognized in literature as a complex&#xD;
psychopathological condition characterized by wide symptomatic heterogeneity and a high&#xD;
prevalence of comorbidities, factors that hinder diagnosis and directly influence clinical&#xD;
management. The literature on BPD indicates that there are many impacts on the personal and&#xD;
social lives of affected individuals, as well as on the lives of their family members and close&#xD;
associates. Despite the relevance of the topic, some national instruments provide sufficient&#xD;
psychometric evidence for screening and clinical evaluation of BPD, justifying the need for&#xD;
cross-cultural adaptation of internationally recognized measures. To address this gap, this&#xD;
study aimed to perform a cross-cultural adaptation of the Borderline Personality&#xD;
Questionnaire (BPQ) for the Brazilian context. The BPQ is a self-report measure composed of&#xD;
80 items that allows for the assessment of Borderline Personality traits based on nine&#xD;
subscales, according to the DSM-V-TR diagnostic criteria: impulsivity, affective instability,&#xD;
abandonment, relationships, self-image, suicide/self-harm, feelings of emptiness, intense&#xD;
anger, and paranoid ideation. Several countries have adapted to the requirements proposed by&#xD;
DSM-IV and V, such as Canada, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Turkey, and France. The process&#xD;
was extended according to the proposal by Borsa, Damásio, and Bandeira for the adaptation&#xD;
and validation of psychological instruments across cultures, which consists of a seven-step&#xD;
process: (1) translation of the instrument from the source language to the target language, (2)&#xD;
overview of the translated versions, (3) evaluation of the synthesis by expert judges, (4)&#xD;
evaluation of the instrument by the target audience; the authors also propose (5) back&#xD;
translation to the source language; (6) pilot study; and (7) evaluation of the instrument's&#xD;
factorial structure. However, this study does not include back-translation, pilot study, and&#xD;
factor analysis steps, which will be developed in future research to provide psychometric&#xD;
evidence. This research involved three groups: translators, expert judges, and those&#xD;
disseminated with TPB. The judges' evaluation was conducted using the Content Validity&#xD;
Coefficient (CVC), clearly analyzing the language, practical relevance, and theoretical&#xD;
pertinence. Patient responses were evaluated qualitatively to assess semantics. The results&#xD;
indicated good agreement among those evaluated and adequate representation of the item&#xD;
construction, although some items were clearly rejected and required linguistic and&#xD;
conceptual adjustments. The semantic analysis stage confirmed that the items were&#xD;
understandable and culturally appropriate to the Brazilian context. The study also detailed the&#xD;
ethical procedures, inclusion and exclusion criteria, as well as limitations. Among these, the&#xD;
difficulty of recruiting participants from public mental health services stood out, since patients&#xD;
treated in CAPS (Psychosocial Care Centers) presented recent suicidal ideation, preventing&#xD;
their inclusion. The technical product of this project is translation. In conclusion, the Brazilian&#xD;
version of the BPQ presents robust initial evidence of content validity and constitutes a&#xD;
promising tool for the assessment of borderline traits in Brazil, offering important support for&#xD;
clinical practice, research, and the improvement of diagnostic processes in the field of&#xD;
personality.

      <link>http://repositorio.ufc.br/handle/riufc/85291</link>
Abstract: Stroke is the leading cause of acquired disability and, in its most severe forms, requires&#xD;
continuous support from a caregiver. Depending on the degree of impairment, patients may&#xD;
present different levels of dependence, which can compromise the caregiver’s physical and&#xD;
mental health due to burden and stress. From this perspective, it becomes essential to investigate&#xD;
the quality of life of these caregivers, often affected by emotional and psychosocial factors such&#xD;
as anxiety, stress, illness, and difficulties in social relationships. This study aimed to analyze&#xD;
the perceptions of primary caregivers of individuals with stroke assisted at the Rehabilitation&#xD;
Center in Sobral, Ceará, regarding the impact of caregiving on their quality of life. Levels of&#xD;
anxiety, depression, stress, caregiving burden, functional dependence, and quality-of-life&#xD;
dimensions were assessed. The study included ten caregivers and adopted a mixed-methods&#xD;
approach, employing a semi-structured interview, a sociodemographic questionnaire, the&#xD;
DASS-21, the Functional Independence Measure (FIM), and the WHOQOL-BREF. The results&#xD;
indicated that caregivers had difficulties defining quality of life, although they primarily&#xD;
associated it with physical and mental health. Caregiving was understood as a multifaceted&#xD;
phenomenon, encompassing spirituality and a sense of usefulness. The participants were&#xD;
predominantly female wives and daughters aged between 23 and 74 years, with low educational&#xD;
attainment and limited family income. Most patients presented a high level of functional&#xD;
dependence, which resulted in caregiver burden and health impairment, with subjective impacts&#xD;
such as anxiety, fatigue, and psychological distress. As technical products, the study generated&#xD;
a review article, an informational leaflet for caregivers addressing quality of life and mental&#xD;
health resources in Sobral, and a podcast entitled “Including Those Who Care: A Look at the&#xD;
Quality of Life of Caregivers.” The research contributes to broadening the understanding of&#xD;
caregivers’ experiences and provides support for the development of care practices and public&#xD;
policies directed toward this population.
