      <title>Improving group decision-making in IT service management by the use of a consensus-based MCDM method</title>

      <description>Título: Improving group decision-making in IT service management by the use of a consensus-based MCDM method
Autor(es): Silva, Igor Pimentel da; Lima, Alberto Sampaio; Souza, José Neuman de; Sousa, Flávio Rubens de Carvalho; Rocha, Lincoln Souza; Silva, Thomaz Edson Veloso da
Abstract: Group decision-making in companies that practice IT&#xD;
service management (ITSM) is a difficult and challenging&#xD;
activity. There are particular issues that hinder the performance&#xD;
of IT management committees, such as the lack of productivity,&#xD;
duration of the meetings, physical distance between members,&#xD;
and low quality of some complex decisions, among other&#xD;
restrictive factors. In this paper we present a method based on&#xD;
wisdom of crowds' theory and Analytic Hierarchy Process&#xD;
(AHP), designed to automate the process of group decision&#xD;
making for IT management committees. We conducted a case&#xD;
study in a Brazilian IT company, and the results indicate that&#xD;
managers considered our method and tool useful, preferable to&#xD;
the current decision-making method, complete and easy to use.

      <title>Análise de critérios de microacessibilidade a pontos turísticos - caso da região do Cariri</title>

Abstract: This paper proposes criteria for physical accessibility to tourism-related trip generating centre, based on the&#xD;
Urban Design, aiming to improve the movement of pedestrians in public spaces. This work consists of a case&#xD;
study in Cariri, the second largest metropolitan area in the state of Ceará. For that, examples of irregularities are&#xD;
presented by means of the diagnosis of the study area, and then solutions based on the ABNT standards and&#xD;
federal legislation are proposed. To perform the analysis, a comparative method was applied, focusing on the&#xD;
aspects of construction that do not meet the requirements of the current legislation. Then, a spatial configuration&#xD;
more suitable to the areas of study was proposed, improving, therefore, the physical characteristics of the non-&#xD;
motorized transport, resulting in a reduction in traffic conflicts and in an improvement the quality of public&#xD;
spaces.

      <title>Evaluation of the ballast aggregates shape properties using digital image processing techniques</title>
      <link>http://repositorio.ufc.br/handle/riufc/69567</link>
      <description>Título: Evaluation of the ballast aggregates shape properties using digital image processing techniques
Autor(es): Diógenes, Daianne Fernandes; Maia, Renan Santos; Castelo Branco, Verônica Teixeira Franco
Abstract: The ballast layer is responsible for supporting the railway superstructure, being repeatedly&#xD;
loaded by the traffic. Performance and operation of railway structures can be influenced by ballast aggregates’ shape properties, which include the form itself, angularity and superficial texture. The aggregates&#xD;
shape properties and the particle size may be directly affected by many factors such as: the track usage time,&#xD;
the fouling material that can modify the original granulometry and the maintenance processes. In this context,&#xD;
it is necessary the evaluation of the aggregates’ shape properties aiming to verify how they can influence on&#xD;
railway’s performance and operation. This work measures these aggregates properties collected from quarries&#xD;
(origin) and aggregates collected after some operation time using ABNT, and AREMA standards, as well as&#xD;
the DIP technique. Results indicated that both materials meet ABNT specifications, the same did not happen&#xD;
when AREMA standards were used. Concerning the DIP results, changes were observed on form, sphericity,&#xD;
and superficial texture, caused by structural efforts from the traffic, by the time of operation that produces&#xD;
fine material and, mainly, by the maintenance procedures (tamping).

      <title>Desenvolvimento de um método expedito para avaliação da imprimação betuminosa de rodovias</title>
      <link>http://repositorio.ufc.br/handle/riufc/69560</link>
Abstract: Bituminous prime coat is the result of the application of binder on the base layer of a pavement in order to promote greater&#xD;
adherence to the surface. In Brasil, it is traditionally used CM-30 during the prime coat, but this material has kerosene as&#xD;
diluent of the Petroleum Asphalt Cement (CAP). In developed countries there is a major constraint on the use of the CM-30&#xD;
primer. This restriction occurs because it is considered polluting to the environment due to proper handling of bituminous&#xD;
material, as well as the emission of Volatile Organic Hydrocarbons (VOC's). There are few published studies on&#xD;
bituminous primer, in Brazil and in the world highlighting the need to develop studies on the performance of alternative&#xD;
ligands that may in the future replace the CM-30. In Brazil, the selection of new binders in the laboratory to verify the&#xD;
penetration of bituminous priming, involves an exhaustive preparation of the Samples (CPs) which is very time consuming.&#xD;
For every variable to be tested (binder type and rate, soil type, compaction, irrigation rate prior, etc.) are shaped at least&#xD;
three CPs for every moisture content, compacted using miniature cylinders (50 × 50) or modified Marshall (100 × 50). This&#xD;
paper proposes a methodology for expeditious evaluation of priming alternative binders to reduce the time and amount of&#xD;
sample. Therefore, test samples were molded in capsules 43mm in diameter and 22mm in height in a sample of sandy soil,&#xD;
using the conventional binder type CM-30. The molding was performed using a coesimetro for compaction the soil in the&#xD;
capsule. It was found that the proposed method can be a simple, fast and inexpensive evaluation of the penetration of&#xD;
bituminous priming and can contribute to the previous selection of alternative binders.
