Abstract: n this study we evaluated the relationship between economic growth and solid waste (SW) generation in Brazilian municipalities and, following fixed-effects panel data regressions, estimated the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) of the dataset. The resulting curve did not exhibit an inverted U-shaped relationship, as expected. We also concluded that selective waste collection had a positive effect on SW management, but the effect was negative when the service was charged.

Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the organic products network in organic and agroecological open-air markets in Fortaleza from the perspective of access and exchange of information between network agents. To this end, interviews were carried out with 42 producers/vendors from five fairs in Fortaleza in 2023 to identify the structural analysis of the fairs’ social networks through the application of the UCINET 6.2 software. The results showed network density of less than 30%, which implies low speed in the circulation of information. Furthermore, it was possible to identify key actors in each of the fairs visited, especially those who reduce paths and hold power in the process of passing on information to the group. It concludes that there is a need for effective public policies aimed at producers/vendors at Fortaleza’s fairs.

Abstract: From the perspective of evaluating Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the school environment, aiming to enhance the quality of education, this study seeks to quantify the impact of the One
Computer per Student Program (Prouca) on school performance. The program involved providing laptops to students and training teachers. For this purpose, microdata from the Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb) was used in conjunction with the School Census, conducting school-level analyses using the Fuzzy Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD) method, considering the restriction of a maximum number of eligible students and teachers to participate in the program. In this case, the number of students and teachers
predicted by the Maimonides' Rule function developed by Angrist and Lavy (1999) was used as an instrument for the observed quantity. The results revealed that Prouca did not hav significantly impact students in standardized Portuguese language and mathematics tests hese findings support the existing
literature that evaluates the implementation of ICTs in schools, particularly in developing countries.

Sustentabilidade agrícola do cultivo de acerola na região do Vale do Jaguaribe, Ceará.

Título: Sustentabilidade agrícola do cultivo de acerola na região do Vale do Jaguaribe, Ceará.

Abstract: In Brazil, organic agriculture has been expanding as a sustainable production system capable of optimizing natural and socioeconomic resources, promoting self-sufficiency, and eliminating the use of pesticides and chemical inputs. In this context, it emerges as an alternative to the conventional model, mitigating the impacts of agricultural modernization. This study analyzes
the effects of agroecological transition on environmental management and the annual revenue per hectare of organic acerola fruit growers in the Vale do Jaguaribe region, Ceará. To this end, the Environmental Management Index (IGA) was measured, followed by tabular analyses and parametric and non-parametric statistical tests to compare conventional and organic acerola
producers. The results indicate that organic demonstrated better environmental management,
achieving a high level of environmental sustainability, while the conventional group remained at a medium level. Additionally, it was found that organic producers achieve higher revenue per hectare of acerola compared to conventional.
