Título: Reflexões sobre o impacto do balé clássico em três comunidades periféricas de Fortaleza.
Autor(es): Nascimento, Cailane Vitória Ferreira do
Abstract: This research investigates the impact of classical ballet on child development in peripheral communities of Fortaleza, Ceará. Drawing from my experience as a ballerina and teacher, the study proposes a reflection on how ballet education can be adapted to engage with the sociocultural contexts of the children involved. The experience of teaching ballet in the Serviluz neighborhood, where I was born and raised, served as the starting point to understand both the challenges and the potential of this dance genre in territories marked by social exclusion. The research was conducted in three projects: ADCE (Associação dos Moradores do Castelo Encantado), Associação Beneficente Sol Nascente (Serviluz), and Balé Jovem do Pirambu. The methodology included the application of questionnaires to parents, teachers, and managers, as well as semi-structured interviews with teachers, aiming to understand how ballet is taught in these spaces and its possible impact on children’s development.

Abstract: This is a work generated from practices, immersions, readings and writings that address issues
related to the cultivation of a sensitive relationship between a transvestite corporeality and plant
corporeality through the development of a somatic practice entitled Listening to Plants,
unfolding from a connective experience that concerns a living network of distributed
intelligence, inspired by a decentralized plant model (MANCUSO, 2019). The aim is then to
develop strategies for existential continuity and production of life in a hostile environment for
dissident corporeality. Therefore, the hegemonic project of the subject that modernity
established in its hierarchical relationship with nature at the expense of other beings that inhabit
the planet – such as plants – is questioned, as well as the superiority of rational thought over
the body. Thus, a resilient experience of self-invention and the world emerges in the face of

transphobic and ecological necropolitical violence, typical of the colonial-neoliberal-
conservative logic. This work is anchored in a theoretical-practical framework that addresses

research related to performance creation in the context of Somatic-Performative
(FERNANDES, 2014) and cartographic (PASSOS, KASTRUP, ESCOSSIA, 2010) research
methodologies, as well as the methodology of Witnessing to the Authentic Movement (JORGE,
2018). Through these methodologies and focusing on the body-art-nature relationship, the
research is fundamentally oriented by experience, where subject and object of the research mix
and are often confused. In this way, counter-hegemonic ethical-aesthetic-political
ecoperformative actions are engendered through a dancing ecosystem corporeality that emerges
from Practice-led Research (HASEMAN, 2015). In this context, it was from an experiential
point of view, through a broadening of the senses and a moving attention (KASTRUP, 2007)
that the artist-researcher was able to explore a creative at Parque Estadual do Cocó to produce
a danced video ecoperformance that establishes a mediation between the issues that cross this
research in the conceptual and practical spheres.

Notas e reflexões sobre nossos desejos de dança: O que nos move hoje?

Título: Notas e reflexões sobre nossos desejos de dança: O que nos move hoje?
Autor(es): Façanha, Mônica Cardoso
Abstract: Evasion and quality of teaching learning has been a concern for higher education in Brazil, given the responsibility with the training of professionals, with the resources applied and with the social and individual expectations about the graduates of each course. Graduation courses in Dance in Federal University of Ceará began in 2011 and, since then, the impression was that many students were"disappearing" of the course every semester. This study aims to verify if students’ dropout was real, which the barriers are faced by those who remained and to experience in the body these sensations. Data collection was done in the records of the Federal University of Ceará, focal group and interviews with students, a questionnaire application through Google Forms and an experimental project proposed to experience the author’s and her colleagues’ feelings through her body’s movements. The success rate of Dance courses is much lower than the overall UFC rate. The student profile of the Dance Courses that answered the questionnaire was female, single, living in Fortaleza, with an one to two siblings, without children, economically dependent of the family, whose head has education equal to or greater than high school graduate, admitted to the regular SISU course,
who has family support, and practiced dancing before starting graduation just for fun or dancing in groups, voluntarily. Difficulties with the family support, with the fact that the Course is full time, the students’ financial restriction, insufficiency number of scholarships and uncertainty about financial sustainability of graduated were the most cited. Love for dance, well-being and the freedom it provides make dance a goal and a way of life and keep the students in the courses. It is still precocious a comparison of other courses of the UFC with those of Dance because these are very recent, however, the difficulties of the students need to be considered and, as far as possible, because they would like to have the Dance as their professional activity after graduation. The experimental project took the author to this place of student who faces barriers to stay in the course, dancing those sensations that affectedher and made her think that this could be the last opportunity to dance them.
