Abstract: The consolidation of Primary Health Care (PHC) in Brazil has assigned strategic centrality to the work of Community Health Workers (CHWs), professionals who operate at the interface between health services and local communities, assuming clinical, educational, and social responsibilities that expose them to intense emotional and structural demands. In light of the social determinants of health framework, understanding the psychosocial and economic conditions underlying their professional practice is essential for the sustainability of the care model. This dissertation aimed to analyze the mental health, quality of life, and financial education of CHWs working in PHC, examining the interplay between living conditions, work organization, and well-being. The investigation was structured into two complementary studies. The first was a cross-sectional observational study conducted with 231 CHWs in the municipality of Sobral, Ceará, Brazil. Data were collected using a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20) for screening Common Mental&#xD;
Disorders (CMD), and the WHOQOL-BREF for quality-of-life assessment. The prevalence of suspected CMD was 22.9% (95% CI: 17.5%–28.3%), with higher frequencies of symptoms related to nervousness, sleep disturbances, and somatic complaints. The psychological and social relationships domains presented higher mean quality-of-life scores, whereas the environment domain showed greater vulnerability, particularly regarding safety and financial resources. The second study examined CHWs’ financial education, including budgeting&#xD;
practices, financial planning, perceived economic stability, and potential repercussions on well-&#xD;
being and professional performance. Findings indicate that structural limitations and financial&#xD;
insecurity are associated with greater psychosocial vulnerability, suggesting that the economic&#xD;
dimension constitutes a relevant determinant influencing both mental health and overall quality&#xD;
of life. It is concluded that, even in a municipality recognized for its strong PHC consolidation,&#xD;
persistent challenges related to occupational overload, economic insecurity, and psychosocial&#xD;
strain remain evident. The results highlight the need for institutional worker-care policies that&#xD;
integrate psychosocial support strategies and structured financial education initiatives as&#xD;
complementary components for strengthening the sustainability of the territorial PHC model.

      <title>Promoção à saúde mental do adolescente nas políticas públicas: uma revisão integrativa</title>
      <link>http://repositorio.ufc.br/handle/riufc/87447</link>
      <description>Título: Promoção à saúde mental do adolescente nas políticas públicas: uma revisão integrativa
Autor(es): Moreira, Karolyne Braga
Abstract: Overcoming the place of exclusion of adolescents and the consequences of the culture of&#xD;
institutionalization, following the principles of psychiatric reform, is still something to be built&#xD;
in everyday public policies. Soft technologies of care are potential institutes for change in the&#xD;
care model, promoting health. Scientific production and interdisciplinary dialogue are&#xD;
necessary for the advances in adolescent health. This research becomes relevant because it is&#xD;
linked to the work process of the teams in comprehensive adolescent care services, making it&#xD;
possible to learn about the actions that have been developed in Public Policies of Health&#xD;
Promotion aimed at adolescents, helping to disseminate effective practices developed in&#xD;
services or helping to understand whether the growing demand of adolescents in specialized&#xD;
services reveals practices that are not aligned with the recommended guidelines and whether&#xD;
these cover the current needs of young people, requiring research and innovation in health care.&#xD;
The objective of this research is to analyze the scientific production available on adolescent&#xD;
mental health and its interfaces with public health policies since the creation of the Child and&#xD;
Adolescent Statute. This is an integrative review in the databases, organizing the research&#xD;
question using the PICO strategy, through the terms " adolec, mental health, health promotion&#xD;
and health policy ". Search procedures were performed in the following databases LILACS and&#xD;
MEDLINE, published from the year the Child and Adolescent Statute was instituted. The search&#xD;
resulted in 520 articles, of which 12 articles were included in the sample. The data were&#xD;
categorized as: year of publication, region, research design, setting, professional categories, and&#xD;
actions developed. The results were presented in frames for better analysis. The research points&#xD;
to a reaffirmation of the mental illness of adolescents, prioritizing actions for the treatment of&#xD;
mental disorders. The lack of specific actions for the care of the target public of this research&#xD;
was verified, as well as the scarcity of publications in the area of mental health promotion,&#xD;
which hinders the sharing of effective practices. The results show the importance of mental&#xD;
health actions carried out in a shared manner, through intersectoral action. The use of soft care&#xD;
technologies is essential to strengthen and concretize this networking, with effective&#xD;
communication and effective strategies to promote the mental health of adolescents.

Abstract: Vertical transmission of syphilis occurs during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding, passing&#xD;
from mother to child, and can result in stillbirths, neonatal deaths, and congenital syphilis.&#xD;
Therefore, the nurse's role is essential in reducing the rates of vertical transmission of syphilis.&#xD;
However, in carrying out their duties, nurses may face some challenges that make this journey&#xD;
difficult. In the meantime, Educational Technologies play a fundamental role when used in the&#xD;
promotion and prevention of health for people in vulnerable situations. Thus, this study aims to&#xD;
map in the scientific literature the educational technologies developed for the prevention of&#xD;
vertical transmission of syphilis and to develop a technology with a practical method for nurses&#xD;
during prenatal care, with an emphasis on the vulnerabilities of pregnant women. This is a&#xD;
methodological research aimed at developing an educational technology focused on the&#xD;
prevention of vertical transmission of syphilis. The study was developed in two stages: the first&#xD;
consisted of a scoping review aimed at mapping the educational technologies developed for the&#xD;
prevention of vertical transmission of syphilis, and the second stage followed the foundation of&#xD;
the theoretical-philosophical framework of human praxis for the development of the&#xD;
technology. The study was set in the Primary Health Care of a Decentralized Health Area, and&#xD;
the participants were 16 healthcare professionals. The inclusion criteria for participants in the&#xD;
pragmatic and productive/artistic phases were established as: nurses with experience in prenatal&#xD;
care for pregnant women with syphilis and being allocated to Primary Health Care assistance.&#xD;
The exclusion criteria were: professionals who did not provide prenatal care to pregnant women&#xD;
with syphilis and those who did not have available time. The study was submitted to the&#xD;
Research Ethics Committee of the State University of Vale do Acaraú, thru the Brazil platform,&#xD;
and received a positive result from the institution under review, with the opinion: 7.038.050.&#xD;
The study is also covered under the accepted opinion: 4.831.233. The findings of the study were&#xD;
organized in the format of scientific articles, the first article titled: Educational technologies&#xD;
developed for the prevention of vertical transmission of syphilis: scoping review. The second&#xD;
article: Educational technology for primary healthcare nurses: prevention of vertical&#xD;
transmission of syphilis. The process of conceptualizing educational technology in the form of&#xD;
an animated infographic and printed media, carried out with the participation of the nurse and&#xD;
supported by the implementation of continuing education to enhance knowledge on the subject,&#xD;
will enable the creation of a product envisioned by the audience. Educational technology will&#xD;
contribute to the management, teaching, and nursing care. Moreover, it is considered that the&#xD;
contributions of this study expand the field of research regarding the potential of this&#xD;
technological resource in the praxic model, favoring its integration and dissemination. It is&#xD;
concluded that, based on the scope review, there is a limited number of educational technologies&#xD;
developed for the prevention of vertical transmission of syphilis. A lack of studies related to&#xD;
technology used by professionals as a tool for the prevention of vertical transmission of syphilis&#xD;
was also observed. In the meantime, it is necessary to conduct studies focused on this topic and&#xD;
develop technology with the participation of professionals, also addressing validation with the&#xD;
target audience and expert judges.

      <title>Educar para cuidar: intervenções com profissionais do Programa Melhor em Casa acerca dos cuidados paliativos</title>
      <link>http://repositorio.ufc.br/handle/riufc/87056</link>
      <description>Título: Educar para cuidar: intervenções com profissionais do Programa Melhor em Casa acerca dos cuidados paliativos
Autor(es): Teixeira, Jorge Samuel de Sousa
Abstract: According to the concept developed by the World Health Organization (WHO), Palliative Care&#xD;
is defined as an approach that improves the quality of life of patients—whether adults or&#xD;
children—and their families as they face problems associated with life-threatening illnesses.&#xD;
Regarding practice, palliative care principles can be applied across various levels of healthcare&#xD;
complexity, ranging from community and home-based care to high-complexity hospitals. In&#xD;
this context, the general objective of this research was to conduct educational interventions on&#xD;
Palliative Care with professionals from the Melhor em Casa (PMeC) program in the&#xD;
municipality of Sobral, Ceará. Specific objectives included: diagnosing the main challenges&#xD;
these professionals face regarding patient management and appropriate referrals; identifying&#xD;
strategies used by these professionals to enhance palliative patient care; specifying the influence&#xD;
of multiprofessional teamwork on the care provided by PMeC; planning proposals and actions&#xD;
based on needs identified in the professionals' practice with these service users; and highlighting&#xD;
participants' perceptions regarding the interventions carried out. To achieve this, the study&#xD;
followed the steps outlined by Thiollent for action research, comprising four main stages: the&#xD;
Exploratory Phase, involving familiarization with the aforementioned program and narrative&#xD;
interviews with mid-level and higher-level professionals to identify challenges and strengths in&#xD;
palliative care implementation; the Planning Phase, during which an intervention program was&#xD;
developed based on the diagnosed difficulties; the Action Phase, where the planned&#xD;
interventions were implemented; and the Evaluation Phase, which assessed the effectiveness&#xD;
and impact of the actions on daily work routines and participant knowledge acquisition, using&#xD;
the "What’s Good! What’s a Shame! What If?" methodology. Data analysis was conducted&#xD;
using the *Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de&#xD;
Questionnaires* (IRAMUTEQ) software (version 0.7 alpha 2). A Descending Hierarchical&#xD;
Classification and a word cloud were generated to assist in identifying themes and analytical&#xD;
categories based on the interview transcripts. Four categories emerged, encompassing general&#xD;
understandings of the palliative approach, care directed at family members and informal&#xD;
caregivers, psychosocial aspects involved in palliative care, and the role of the&#xD;
multiprofessional team as both a technical and affective element of care. Each category gave&#xD;
rise to a thematic session focused on discussing the key demands highlighted by professionals&#xD;
during the first phase. Interventions relied on activities guided by active learning&#xD;
methodologies, allowing participants to experience a closer connection between the educational&#xD;
proposals introduced by the researchers and the daily work realities faced within the PMeC setting. Discussions centered on the approach's guiding principles, the multiprofessional&#xD;
perspective required for this patient profile, a compassionate approach attentive to issues&#xD;
surrounding finitude and thanatology, and the vital role of informal caregivers in the palliative&#xD;
therapeutic journey; these discussions fostered conceptual reconstructions and new&#xD;
arrangements based on the constructs underpinning the interventions. It is also worth noting&#xD;
that the interventions had a positive impact on the professionals' daily work; they provided&#xD;
favorable evaluations of the sessions held during the action phase, highlighting effective&#xD;
aspects, weaknesses, and suggestions for future designs. Furthermore, the methodological&#xD;
trajectory—structured around the four phases of action research—enabled the successful&#xD;
achievement of the established objectives, which were closely interconnected. In light of these&#xD;
considerations, the importance of increasingly conducting scientific studies that center on the&#xD;
palliative approach is recognized—particularly when such endeavors seek to combine&#xD;
comprehensive research with intervention methods. Thus, this study stands as an ethical-&#xD;
political resource for disseminating palliative care as a viable and recommended healthcare&#xD;
alternative, while also valuing research as a transformative instrument that catalyzes&#xD;
responsible and humane practices.
