Abstract: Saúde e Rimas is a project of the Artistic Culture Promotion Program (PPCA) of the Office of the Vice-Rectory for Culture at UFC (PROCULT), which seeks to combine education, art, and science with the aim of translating and disseminating information about rheumatologic diseases, such as osteoporosis and scleroderma, through cordel literature. Scleroderma is a struggle that affects the lives of some people and is not widely known by the general population. Thus, this cordel in comic-strip format arises from a desire to bring information to broader segments of society about how scleroderma can manifest itself and about the care involved in its treatment.

Abstract: This cordel was created with the aim of providing information and care to the community, addressing in an accessible and educational way the main aspects of Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD). TMDs are conditions that can affect the joints and muscles responsible for jaw movements, such as opening and closing the mouth, and may cause pain, clicking sounds, limited mouth opening, and muscle discomfort. The cordel seeks to raise awareness about the factors that contribute to the development of TMDs, to provide guidance on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, and to highlight the importance of comprehensive patient care and overall well-being. &#xD;
It is the result of initiatives by NEPDOR – the Center for Studies and Research on Orofacial Pain of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), which brings together professionals from different fields, students, and researchers committed to integrating teaching, research, outreach, innovation, and culture. &#xD;
These activities stem from internal calls for proposals at UFC — Call No. 02/2024 of the Artistic Culture Promotion Program (PPCA), of the Office of the Vice President for Culture (Procult – UFC), and Call No. 01/2025 for Curricular Actions in Communities of Knowledge (ACCS), of the Office of the Vice President for Extension (PREX – UFC) — as well as from research projects funded by development agencies: the CNPq/MCTI UNIVERSAL Call (No. 10/2023), FUNCAP Postdoctoral Fellowship (Call No. 09/2023), and the CNPq Research Productivity Fellowship (Call No. 09/2023). These initiatives involve scientific, technological, and innovation research activities related to the health field, developed in higher education and research institutions in the state of Ceará. Thus, the cordel reinforces the commitment of NEPDOR and UFC to bringing scientific knowledge closer to the population, transforming research into dialogue and care, and promoting health.
