    <title>“Na calçada, pra planejar, pra sonhar”: a espacialização do movimento dos atingidos por barragens no Ceará</title>

    <description>Título: “Na calçada, pra planejar, pra sonhar”: a espacialização do movimento dos atingidos por barragens no Ceará
Autor(es): Ramos, Myrna Lorena Lima
Abstract: Water and energy are fundamental resources for the capital accumulation, especially&#xD;
at the present moment of its development. At the same time, the main means of&#xD;
obtaining these resources are responsible for promoting attempts at domination and&#xD;
producing spaces for capital reproduction. However, the spatialization of these&#xD;
attempts of domination does not occur without resistance, and these processes of&#xD;
resistance also have spatialities. In light of the above, the Movement of People Affected&#xD;
by Dams (MAB) has been, since the year of its nationalization in 1991, the most&#xD;
expressive representative of the struggle of those affected and affected by dams in&#xD;
Brazil. In this research, I present the genesis of MAB in Ceará, which was born with&#xD;
the construction of the Castanho Dam. The dam work, carried out between 1995 and&#xD;
2003, planned during the Government of Changes in the 1980s, reached the&#xD;
municipalities of Jaguaribara, Jaguaribe, Jaguaretama and Alto Santo. I also present&#xD;
how the spatialization of MAB occurred in the State from the implementation of&#xD;
technical objects in space and the formation of Movement’s Regions of action. Cast as&#xD;
the general objective of the research in development to discuss the process of&#xD;
spatialization of the Movement of People Affected by Dams in the State of Ceará. I&#xD;
have as specific objectives to interpret the birth process of MAB in Ceará; understand&#xD;
the specificity of MAB in Ceará from a scalar perspective and understand which are&#xD;
the spaces built by MAB in the state. The methodology of this research is divided into&#xD;
three stages. The first corresponds to the bibliographical survey of the material already&#xD;
produced about the study and documentary research; the second stage is carrying out&#xD;
exploratory field work associated with non-structured focused interviews and&#xD;
participant observation (MARCONI and LAKATOS, 2003); and the third stage&#xD;
corresponds to the transcription of the interview audios, information’s organization&#xD;
obtained from the documentary research and writing of the dissertation. This&#xD;
dissertation contains five chapters: The first presents an introduction about the subject&#xD;
studied; In the second chapter I present the theoretical basis used in the research&#xD;
reported here. In the third chapter I discuss the birth of the MAB in Brazil and the scalar&#xD;
performance of the Movement; Finally, I present the process of emergence and&#xD;
spatialization of the MAB in Ceará, highlighting the regions where the Movement&#xD;
&#xD;
operates in the state and the conception of the region of action taken by the MAB in&#xD;
Ceará.

    <title>Impactos da erosão costeira na praia do Batoque, Ceará, Brasil</title>

    <description>Título: Impactos da erosão costeira na praia do Batoque, Ceará, Brasil

Abstract: Coastal erosion is a dynamic process that compromises the environmental integrity of coastal areas and directly impacts the livelihoods of traditional communities. At Praia do Batoque, located within the Batoque Extractive Reserve (RESEX) in Aquiraz (CE), intense morphodynamic changes have been observed over the past decades, affecting artisanal fishing, the main local economic activity. This research aimed to analyze the spatio-temporal variation&#xD;
of the coastline between the years 2003 and 2025, using the DSAS (Digital Shoreline Analysis System) with the End Point Rate (EPR) and Linear Regression Rate (LRR) methods. The results indicated significant rates of coastline retreat in the studied sector, with maximum erosion values exceeding -4 m/year in some sections. The multitemporal comparison revealed the&#xD;
replacement of natural features by degraded areas, as well as the advance of mobile dunes over buildings, with residential losses reported by the local population. The loss of post-beach areas used for boat resting and fish trade was observed, compromising the practice of artisanal fishing. The improvised use of materials to try to contain erosion, vehicle traffic in sensitive areas such as turtle nesting sites, and the increase of anthropization in zones classified as&#xD;
maximum protection were also noted. The research highlights the urgency of integrated management actions, emphasizing public policies aimed at protecting traditional communities and preserving coastal ecosystems. The Batoque RESEX, although legally established, lacks effective management instruments that ensure its ecological and sociocultural functionality,&#xD;
such as increased local supervision.

Abstract: The Catumbela River Basin (CRB), Angola, has experienced increasing socio-environmental&#xD;
complexity driven by land-use intensification, unplanned urban expansion, natural resource&#xD;
exploitation, and climate variability, which have compromised landscape functionality and&#xD;
territorial environmental security. In this context, this thesis proposes a geodynamic model of&#xD;
Functional and Propositional Zoning, grounded in Landscape Geoecology, to support&#xD;
sustainable management of the CRB and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable&#xD;
Development Goals (SDGs 6, 11, 13, and 15). The methodological approach is systemic and&#xD;
integrative, combining analyses of physical components (relief, geology, soils, climate,&#xD;
vegetation, and hydrography), land-use and land-cover patterns, environmental, social, and&#xD;
socio-environmental vulnerability indicators, as well as geoprocessing techniques and spatial&#xD;
statistics. Landscape compartmentalization into geoecological units enabled interpretation of&#xD;
geosystem structure and functioning across the upper, middle, and lower reaches of the basin.&#xD;
Results reveal pronounced spatial heterogeneity within the CRB, with environmentally stable&#xD;
areas associated with high naturalness and moderately stable to unstable sectors concentrating&#xD;
the most significant socio-environmental conflicts. The integration of environmental fragility&#xD;
and social vulnerability highlights critical zones particularly in transition areas and the lower&#xD;
basin where anthropogenic pressures intensify environmental and social risks. Based on this&#xD;
diagnosis, a functional zoning scheme was proposed, comprising conservation zones,&#xD;
sustainable use zones, geoenvironmental requalification zones, and priority territorial ordering&#xD;
zones. The study concludes that Landscape Geoecology provides an effective framework for&#xD;
environmental planning in tropical river basins, offering robust support for public policy,&#xD;
vulnerability reduction, and integrated natural resource management. Recommendations&#xD;
include strengthening environmental monitoring, incorporating higher-resolution spatial and&#xD;
temporal data, and implementing participatory zoning with local authorities and communities

    <title>Cultura e representações da paisagem cajueira no Nordeste do Brasil: dimensões geoeducacionais de uma tropicalidade frutífera</title>

    <description>Título: Cultura e representações da paisagem cajueira no Nordeste do Brasil: dimensões geoeducacionais de uma tropicalidade frutífera

Abstract: Understanding geographic space requires more than sight; it requires smelling, touching,&#xD;
listening, tasting, imagining, and feeling. The expressions of cashew in everyday life reveal a&#xD;
true polyphony of landscape, and the relationship with this fruit dates back to ancient times.&#xD;
This research was based on the hypothesis that knowledge of cashew landscapes fosters a rich&#xD;
geographical understanding, manifested through literature, cuisine, music, and visual arts. As a&#xD;
general objective, we sought to understand its multiple representations through an analysis of&#xD;
the spatial dynamics of the cashew landscape in the states of Ceará, Piauí, and Rio Grande do&#xD;
Norte. This research was motivated by the lack of systematization and organization of&#xD;
knowledge surrounding the history of cashew, which is scattered across many media and lacks&#xD;
updated interpretations of what cashew represents today in its different cultural manifestations.&#xD;
To this end, we designed specific objectives to achieve this goal. Our specific objectives were:&#xD;
1) To investigate how food culture constitutes cultural heritage; 2) To research the spatial&#xD;
dynamics of cashew in the local, regional, national, and global context; 3) To analyze the&#xD;
geographies of cashew; and 4) To discuss the role of geoeducation through Food Heritage&#xD;
Education. This research is qualitative and quantitative and exploratory in nature, involving&#xD;
bibliographical readings, surveys of cashew landscapes, planning and conducting fieldwork,&#xD;
and the development of a geoeducational product. The method used was semiotic, based on the&#xD;
concepts of Charles Sanders Peirce. We consider cashew as a fruit that symbolizes polysemic&#xD;
tropicality, reinforcing the nutritional potential strongly identified in the Northeastern and&#xD;
Brazilian landscapes; in addition, it reaches a global scale through complex cultural phenomena.&#xD;
These phenomena demonstrate the central perspective of this thesis: the networked articulation&#xD;
of a tropical cashew landscape, accessible to geographic education, aggregates values and&#xD;
promotes social identities capable of shaping a Cashew Cultural Region (CCR). It is through&#xD;
the integration of multiple cajualities (cashew events and festivities) that the CCR is formed,&#xD;
blending tradition and innovation. Proposing this concept to reflect on public policy related to&#xD;
cashew food heritage is the objective of this research.
