    <description>Título: Gerenciamento de inventário de produtos em aging no contexto do Integrated Business Planning (IBP): um estudo de caso com aplicação do ciclo PDCA
Autor(es): Lima Júnior, Antônio Ricardo Amâncio
Abstract: This study aims to develop and implement, within the context of Integrated Business Planning (IBP), a structured inventory management model focused on mitigating risks associated with near-expiration products (aging), through the application of the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle, in a company operating in the agrochemical sector. This is an applied research study with a qualitative and quantitative approach, conducted as a case study with characteristics of action research, in which the researcher actively participated in problem identification, action implementation, and results monitoring. Data were extracted from the company’s ERP system, covering the period from April&#xD;
2024 to March 2025, and were organized based on product classification according to shelf-life horizon, distinguishing between items with imminent expiration (VIN) and pre-expiration (Pre-VIN). The application of the PDCA cycle enabled the structuring of a preventive management model, integrated into IBP decision-making forums, promoting cross-functional alignment among sales, planning, and operations. The results showed a 49% reduction in physical volume and a 21% decrease in the financial value of items classified as aging, indicating a significant improvement in inventory shelf-life profile and mitigation of financial loss risks. The effectiveness of preventive actions targeting the Pre-VIN category is highlighted, as it presented the highest&#xD;
proportional reductions, as well as the positive impact on working capital efficiency due to the decrease in capital tied up in low-liquidity inventory. It is concluded that integrating the PDCA cycle into the IBP process is an effective approach for structured aging management, contributing to stronger inventory governance, improved operational efficiency, and support for the organization’s economic sustainability.

Abstract: The use of electrochemical methods in the treatment of industrial effluents is a promising alternative to traditional methods, as the efficiency in removing pollutants provides satisfactory results in industries and treatment plants. However, electricity consumption and high initial costs are still factors that prevent its widespread use. In this sense, the present work aims to study an alternative method in the use of electrochemical cells to increase efficiency in relation to known methods: electrochemical oxidation with electrocoagulation by cathodic dissolution. It is a hybrid method, using two traditional processes (electrocoagulation and electrooxidation) but innovating in the disposition of the electrolytic cell to obtain better results. To study the process, the effects of initial pH (4, 7 and 10), anode type (graphite and Ti/Pt) and supporting electrolyte (NaCl, NaNO3 and Na2SO4) were initially evaluated in preliminary tests, then, the efficiency comparison of the proposed method with the methods already known in the literature in the removal of synthetic textile effluent (Red Remanzol RB 133%) were made. During the experimental procedure, analyzes of dissolved organic carbon, color, pH, cathode mass and energy consumption were performed. The results obtained provided the following optimal operating conditions in the preliminary tests: pH 4, Ti/Pt anode and NaNO3 as supporting electrolyte. In comparative tests, the hybrid method proposed in the present work showed better efficiency in color removal (100%), dissolved organic carbon (69.71%), energy consumption and electrode consumption compared to traditional methods of electrocoagulation and electro-oxidation applied separately, demonstrating that the technique is a promising alternative to traditional methods in the treatment of water and effluents.

Abstract: The curricular internship is a crucial stage in the professional training process of students, regardless of their field of study, as it enables the integration of knowledge acquired in the academic environment with the demands of the organizational context. In view of the growth of the industrial sector in the state of Ceará and the increasing demand for professionals who, in addition to technical expertise, also demonstrate behavioral skills, it becomes relevant to understand how the internship experience contributes to the development of essential competencies for professional practice. This study aims to analyze the influence of the curricular internship on the professional training of chemical engineering students, seeking to identify the main skills developed during this experience from the perspective of managers of companies located in Ceará. The research adopted an exploratory and descriptive approach. The exploratory stage was based on documentary analysis and scientific studies related to competency development in the engineering context. In the descriptive stage, an electronic questionnaire was applied to managers of companies in Ceará that host chemical engineering interns. The results indicate that the curricular internship contributes to the development of technical competencies, such as data interpretation and report preparation, performance of laboratory analyses, and mastery of productive processes. Regarding behavioral skills, problem-solving ability, sense of responsibility and autonomy, communication, and teamwork stand out. It is concluded that the internship plays a strategic role in the training of chemical engineers who are better prepared to meet market demands, strengthening employability and professional insertion in the industrial context of Ceará.

    <description>Título: Desenvolvimento de aplicativo para tratamento de dados de emulsões de petróleo

Abstract: The formation of water-in-oil emulsions during petroleum production operations represents a significant technical challenge, as it increases costs and processing time. Understanding the formation and stability of these systems is of paramount importance for mitigating issues and optimizing production. Parameters associated with emulsion stability, such as the Droplet Size Distribution (DSD) and the mean droplet diameter, are fundamental for characterizing and understanding emulsion behavior. Traditional analysis methods, such as manual counting in micrographs, are labor-intensive, subjective, and poorly scalable. In this context, the present work developed a Python-based application capable of automating the processing of emulsion micrographs through the Hough Transform for circle detection, enabling the determination of the mean droplet diameter (D32) and the corresponding DSD. A total of 325 emulsions were produced using 13 distinct crude oils, with variations in temperature, salinity, and water cut; after filtering for immediate instability, 265 emulsions were analyzed. The implemented method presented an average absolute error of approximately 1.3 μm when compared to manual processing performed using the ImageJ software, while reducing processing time from approximately 30 minutes to less than 5 seconds per image set. The application also incorporated machine learning models to predict emulsion stability, viscosity, and D32, following the methodology proposed by Rolim et al. (2026). The use of Python programming enabled fast analyses, providing significant advances in standardization and in the handling of large volumes of experimental data.
