Abstract: Cloud computing services have changed people’s lifestyles and the use of cloud computing has increased due to its convenience, possibility of cost reduction and wide vaiety of integrated applications. On the other hand, companies that provide this type of service need to meet the growing demand with high quality of service and manage capacity in line with the strategy in a&#xD;
faster and more objective way. The alternative to help management is the use of computational intelligence and therefore the present work aims to propose and test a solution through a system that predicts the use of server resources and the method used is the test and evaluation of regression and prediction models applied to a set of artificially generated sequential data based&#xD;
on a literature search that identifies the characteristics of these data. As a result, a neural network without feedback produced a model that has a great fit to the test data of the peak daily use of the processor and it is concluded that managers can use the forecast data of processor use as a tool in making management decisions of capacity.

Abstract: The purpose of this project to carry out a relevant study of the WDM optical network with &#xD;
limited  performance  by  the  chromatic  dispersion  present  in  the  G.652  optical  fibers  which &#xD;
perform as means data transmissions. Through the simulations into the OptiSystem software, &#xD;
are created experiments set of methods of correction this dispersive effect through the exchange &#xD;
of modulation of the insert signal of stretch of the dispersion compensating fiber (DCF) along &#xD;
of  the  transmission  line.  Four  conditions  of  test  were  explored:  without  correction,  with &#xD;
agreement of the DCF trek only in transmission (pre-compensating),  part in the transmission &#xD;
and part in the reception (symmetric compensation) and full in reception of the data flow (postcompensation). Moreover, each mode had its own behavior signal quality checked when the light bit was modulated with condition NRZ and RZ. With the size of the DCF stretch calculated to each part of the tested network, the practice test environment with symmetrical compensating of the dispersion and also with modulation RZ have shown bit error rate (BER), pleasing the condition required to the data rate of 10 Gb/s. These considerations have shown that the use of the technical of the dispersion chromatic compensating with DCF stretch entry are very efficient to the improvement of the high speed net performances and making viable the increasingly the width of the bandwidth in optical networks, even though when they have shown old cableswhich had not been manufactured in specific parameters constitutive to this purpose.

    <title>Design of an electromagnetic energy harvesting circuit (rf-dc converter) applied to cmos 45nm technology</title>

    <description>Título: Design of an electromagnetic energy harvesting circuit (rf-dc converter) applied to cmos 45nm technology
Autor(es): Vasconcelos, Thiago Azevedo de
Abstract: The main topic of this project is a design of an Energy Harvesting circuit using an architecture&#xD;
proposed by a paper (ASL; ZARIFI, 2014) and a doctor thesis (SEIGNEURET, 2011). This&#xD;
architecture is the Dickson Voltage Multiplier, a circuit capable for increasing the output voltage&#xD;
of a circuit which is, in this case, fed with low power energy from the environment. This&#xD;
monograph imposes some constraints and directives to the project and starts by analyzing the&#xD;
equations and curves of the basic circuit of the Dickson Voltage Multiplier architecture. After its&#xD;
analysis and understanding of its basic behavior, the project’s focus changes to create a circuit&#xD;
which satisfy the objectives and constraints set at the beginning. Simulations are performed, like&#xD;
Monte Carlo, and after the results, conclusions about the performance of the circuit are made.&#xD;
The layout of an integrated circuit designed for this circuit is presented on the annex.
