Título: Cinderela da Disney: um estudo sobre adaptação e nostalgia
Autor(es): Guilherme, Mariana Silva
Abstract: The story of Cinderella is the most reproduced and recognized story in the world. This paper analyzes the film versions produced by Walt Disney, the 1950 animation and the 2015 live-action, in order to understand how the process of adaptation from one medium - animation - to the other - live-action - took place, which elements remained, which elements were modified, using the ideas of authors such as Robert Stam and Thais Diniz, and to study how the relationship between the works is able to cause nostalgic appeal in the viewer based on the concepts of nostalgia worked on by authors such as Linda Hutcheon

Abstract: To support our discussion on childhood, we draw upon the foundational works of Sarmento
(2004; 2007) and Brougére (1997; 2006), as well as Jenkins (2006; 2015), Buckingham
(2007), Livingstone (2011; 2013; 2017), and Vitorino Sampaio (2016; 2017; 2021) to explore
childhood and its relationship with the internet. Regarding gender studies, we engage with
authors such as Bourdieu (2012), Butler (2018; 2019), Lauretis (2019), Bento (2006), and
Harris (2005), in addition to Kafai et al. (2008) and Friman (2015), who specifically address
the relationship between gender and digital games. For critical analysis, we employ the
concepts of risks and opportunities outlined by Hasebrink et al. (2009), along with their
methodological framework. Additionally, we incorporate the methodologies proposed by
Schell (2008) and Petry et al. (2013) to conduct a thorough examination of the game. Our
analysis reveals that the game includes challenging moments that promote movement,
dialogue, and learning, as well as mechanics that are rarely found in other games designed for
girls. However, Royale High also fosters a consumerist mentality and encourages the
continuous acquisition of beauty and fashion items while restricting players' expressive
possibilities to standardized, slender body types. Furthermore, we identify additional risks,
such as the incentivization of inputting sensitive player data into the platform

A esperança: O papel das representações de marketing político na construção da distopia de Panem

Título: A esperança: O papel das representações de marketing político na construção da distopia de Panem
Autor(es): Matias, Iuri Gomes
Abstract: This monograph analyzes the novel Mockingjay, by Suzanne Collins, the third volume of The
Hunger Games trilogy, from the perspective of communication, political marketing, and
political propaganda as structuring elements of its dystopian narrative. Based on the concepts
of utopia and dystopia, the study investigates how the work constructs a society marked by
ideological control, symbolic manipulation, and the spectacularization of politics,
establishing parallels with real-world practices of political propaganda. The central objective
is to understand how political marketing and propaganda strategies are represented within the
narrative and how they influence both the development of the plot and the construction of the
protagonist Katniss Everdeen as a political symbol. The research adopts a qualitative
approach, grounded in narratological analysis, examining elements such as plot, characters,
space, time, and narrator, articulated with theoretical frameworks from political marketing
and propaganda studies. This monograph demonstrates that, throughout the narrative, Katniss
is instrumentalized by opposing political forces, being transformed into a communicational
product and a tool for mass mobilization. Finally, it concludes that Mockingjay critically
reveals that, even within discourses presented as liberating, mechanisms of manipulation,
symbolic control, and propaganda remain active, reinforcing the dystopian logic of the work
and problematizing the relationships between power, communication, and politics.
