Focusing the analysis of urban form from the perspective of geography- historical, it was with the study of cartographic images, collating and comparing with the photographic records and other documentary sources, to understand the process of occupation of the coastal zone of Fortaleza. Based on a reflection of the image in the ideological construction of urban space, to carry was of the main cartographic records of Fortaleza in the period 1726 to 1947. They are: a) Primeira Planta da Vila de Fortaleza (1726),by Manuel Francês; b) Planta do Porto e Villa da Fortaleza (1813) and Planta da Villa de Fortaleza (1818), both by Silva Paulet c) Planta da Cidade de Fortaleza (1850) by Antonio Simões Ferreira de Farias d) Planta Topográfica de Fortaleza e Subúrbios (1875), by Adolfo Herbst e) Planta de Fortaleza (1899), by Amedeé Mouchez f) Anteprojeto da Cidade de Fortaleza (1932), by Nestor de Figueiredo g) Plano Diretor de Remodelação e Extensão da Cidade de Fortaleza (1947), by Saboya Ribeiro. Photographic images of the main newspaper of the time were also select: Ba-ta-clan, A Jangada, Verdes Mares, Ceará Illustrado, Unitário and O Povo. The images, taken in the period studied as synonym of the real city, now serve as tools for application to public intervention in the city urban structure, which sought a new face to the fortalezense coast. With the research on these images it is expected to contribute to academic debate on the treatment of the urban landscape as a formation of new spaces, and bring to light the role of geography, history as a basis for the understanding of urban structure of Ceará. Tipo: Dissertação 2009-01-01T00:00:00Z http://repositorio.ufc.br/handle/riufc/11670 Título: Hidrogeologia da faixa costeira de Aquiraz-CE Autor(es): Silva, José Gonzaga da Abstract: This dissertation deals with the hydrological study of the coastal region of Aquiraz county, Ceará State, Brazil, where consumption of underground water corresponds to over 90% of the human population’s uptake. The research work has been undertaken on the basis of gathered bibliographic information, data on registered wells, chemical analyses and physiographic aspects. Geologically, the study area is represented by sedimentary rocks of the Barreiras Formation and by dune and alluvial deposits. Those rocks make up the porous media where there have been identified three occurrences of aquiferous fields of action, represented by the systems: Barreiras, dune/paleodune and alluvion. The alluvion’s water is considered improper for human consumption because of problems with its salinity. The Barreiras and dune/paleodune systems are ameable to exploitation because of favourable hydrological and lithological conditions, the latter having comparatively a more important resource potential than the former, whose silt-clay intercalations make it less permeable. The aquiferous systems are fed by rainfall, which is accountable for variations in the underground reserves and the water balance. The qualitative analyses show that most of the underground water can be chemically classified as of good quality, whereas from a bacteriological viewpoint this does not hold true because of defficiencies in the water sewage system.
