Autor(es): Santos, Francisco de Assis Silva dos
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to present a comparative analysis of the conceptual structure of the
natural and cultural sciences, based on the theoretical-epistemological framework of German
philosopher Ernst Cassirer (1874–1945). In Substance and Function (1910), Cassirer presents
the tendency of modern sciences, specifically the natural sciences (Naturwissenschaften), to
establish symbolic relationships as the logical nexus of their conceptual structures, replacing
connections based on fixed essences and substances with dynamic and functional relationships.
Based on this reference, the central question of this research is: is the functional structure of
natural scientific concepts valid for the concepts of the humanities (Geisteswissenschaften)?
Thus, this study intends to compare the conceptual structure of the cultural sciences with the
functional aspect of the concepts of the natural sciences. Initially, the hermeneutic work focuses
on three possibilities: i) the functional aspect of natural concepts is equally present in cultural
concepts; ii) cultural concepts present specific characteristics of Cassirer's functional
perspective; and iii) cultural concepts have conceptual structures that are distinct from
functional schematism. Thus, the research develops a comparative analysis of the conceptual
relationship between cultural and natural sciences from Ernst Cassirer's theoretical perspective,
exposing the epistemological contours from a functional prism.

Abstract: The work presented through this research considered the inclusion of blind students in the
Music Degrees of the Higher Education Institutions in the state of Ceará. It aimed to develop a
reflection on the process of music training of people with disabilities – PWDs – in HEIs.
Questions were asked about the process of training in music, material used, blind
teacher/student relationship, facilities with assistive technologies, language acquisition,
knowledge of the visually impaired in Braille Musicography. The constitution of the field, the
habitus and the capitals was probed, according to the process of formation of these students,
based on Bourdieu's theory. Forms and semi-structured interviews were used with the blind
students of the HEIs about the training process, the relationship with the field of higher
education in music, the admission of the PWD student, the reasons that led him to seek training
in music, his relationship before, during and after graduation with music. Regarding the training
process, it was relevant to know about the teacher's performance, what materials were or are
used in the teaching process, what was the knowledge of braille musicography of the agents
involved, how equity of knowledge was provided between the student with disabilities and
student without Disabilities. In this sense, we aimed to understand the process of inclusion of
students with visual impairment, specifically blindness, in the Degree Courses in Music in
public institutions in the State of Ceará. The analysis of the data pointed to challenges that still
need to be overcome in attitudinal, architectural, and informational inclusion. The data collected
show a small excerpt of how the blind students, protagonists of this research, have perceived
the course and the suggestions for improving the musical training of the visually impaired
student.

Abstract: This research investigates the presence, reception, and sense of belonging of bodies that deviate from aesthetic and socioeconomic norms subtly imposed by Brazilian cultural institutions and urban spaces, focusing on museums and public areas in Fortaleza (CE). Grounded in an autobiographical and theoretical-practical approach through performance art, the study presents the artistic work Álvaro as a result of these investigations. It draws on the researcher’s personal experience as an art educator and visual artist marked by exclusion, surveillance, and subalternization. The research examines how colonial and necropolitical mechanisms (Mbembe) continue to operate, while also exploring practices of resistance and re-existence inspired by the concept of aquilombamento (Nascimento). Methodologically, it combines autobiographical narratives, sentimental cartography (Rolnik), spiral time (Martins), and performance as both a methodological and political device. The project engages with contemporary artists and proposes the displacement of dissident bodies into nontraditional art spaces—such as squares, street markets, and urban terminals—fostering contemporary forms of aquilombamento as aesthetic, political, and affective gestures. Ultimately, it articulates art, education, and performance as practices capable of challenging institutional hegemonies and redefining ways of being, inhabiting, and producing urban subjectivities.

Abstract: The stereotypical representations of the witch-woman in audiovisual productions are rooted in the interest of maintaining conservative norms, reinforced through mass media communication (Foucault, 2004). This study analyzes the representational possibilities of the witch figure beyond the North American and European contexts, focusing on the Chilean film Sorcery (2023) and incorporating a Latin American perspective. To this end, we engage with the theoretical framework of Machado (2019) and Federici (2017; 2019; 2023). The analysis proceeds through a symptomatology of time based on Burckhard (1961), and through a montage-based reading of the film’s visual découpage, drawing on Aby Warburg’s method (2015). The outcome of this research will be a visual essay composed from a perspective ch’ixi of Silvia Cusicanqui(2015) and the new mestiza of Anzaldúa (2012), establishing parallels with works by Latin American visual artists and images from other media, in pursuit of a visual knowledge Didi-Huberman (2013).
