Abstract: The social determinants of health directly influence in the health-disease process. In the pandemic caused by the novel Coronavirus, denominated Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), these factors imply the transmission and worsening of the disease. This work is aimed to correlate the social vulnerability in Brazilian regions with the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases. The analysis was made through a qualitative approach in the search for information made available by public agencies such as the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics(IBGE), State Department of Health, Municipal Department of Health and the literature indexed on the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) database using the health descriptors: “Social determinants of health”,“Health-disease process”, “Social vulnerability” and “COVID-19”. As results, the discrepancy between regionalsincidence and mortality rates suggests a relationship with social inequality and COVID-19 indices in the regions of Brazil. North and Northeast had the worst rates in most of the evaluated parameters. Therefore, the vulnerable population of fundamental resources for dignified survival is more susceptible to aggravations and failures in coping with new infectious diseases.

Abstract: Gestational Diabetes Mellitus is a condition characterized by an increase in blood glucose levels, which can be initiated or diagnosed during pregnancy. This process occurs due to the production of high levels of hormones by the placenta, most of which are harmful to the action of insulin in the cells increasing the blood sugar level and can affect the growth and well-being of the fetus. Among the drugs used, Metformin Hydrochloride is an oral hypoglycemic drug used to treat Diabetes Mellitus. The present study aimed to elaborate a systematic review on the use of metformin hydrochloride in the treatment of gestational diabetes mellitus. The searches were carried out in the SciElo and Google Acadêmico databases. 763 articles were found in the initial research and after the analysis of the pre-analytical phases, only 6 were selected, since they met the inclusion criteria. After extracting the data, a relationship was made between the use of metformin with the various forms of therapy used in the studies and it was shown that metformin is a drug well applied as monotherapy, being used by 40 % of individuals in one of the studies analyzed and it is also well accepted in combination therapy with insulin inpatients who have resistance to it, due to metformin being a drug with easy access and easy dosage. It is concluded that metformin is a safe, effective, low-cost and widely accepted drug for pregnant women who use it in the treatment of gestational Diabetes Mellitus.

Abstract: The World Health Organization (WHO) defines the adverse reaction to the medication as a harmful or unwanted reaction that appears after the administration of a medicines used to prevent or treat a disease or symptoms. The irrational use of medications is a serious problem and is related when the patient purchases medicines with no indication or professional guidance on their use. This leads to exposure to problems related to medications, as well as adverse reactions, directing the population to Primary Care units. In this context, there is a need for the insertion of the pharmacist providing clinical services in these units. The work aimed to carry out a systematic review of the literature of studies on Pharmaceutical Care in Basic Health Units and the impacts on the irrational use of medicines, as well as the role of the pharmacist in this process. Initially, 53 articles were selected from the SciELO, LILACS and BVS databases, where only 2 articles met the inclusion criteria of the review. It was evident that the monitoring of a professional providing Pharmaceutical Care and guiding patients to the best use of their medicines received in Primary Care is beneficial to the health of the population. Just as this professional would increase the number of assisted inhabitants, in addition to reducing the practice of self-medication. In addition, the authors of both articles also show that the importance of the pharmacist in Primary Care, acting in addition to Pharmaceutical Assistance, also in Pharmaceutical Care, presents better management of resources used in the municipality's pharmacy.

Abstract: Technological innovation and the development of new products is what currently boost the
competitiveness between enterprises and moves the economy. The technical-scientific advances in
Dentistry grow each day and there are great investments by research centers and universities in new
materials, especially in dental implantology. The objective was to evaluate the patents deposited and
granted in implantology at the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) in Brazil. This is a
prospective study with searches performed during March 2020 on patents in dental implantology
deposited and granted in the INPI. The research was carried out in titles and abstracts of reports on
patent applications from the first deposit through to the most current using the search terms "dental
implants" and "implantology". The information was extracted from documents and organized into tables
and graphs. From 1988, the date of the first deposit, through to 2019 there were 139 patent application
deposits. Among the deposited patents, 54% (75) were classified as utility model patents and 25% (35)
as invention patents, the others 21% (29) have been in analysis. Brazil holds 80.6% (112) of deposits,
and the others are from countries in Latin America, North America, Europe and Africa, and virtually all
patents are of type A, which refers to products of human needs. Most deposits of patents for use in
implantology in the INPI relate to implant and prosthetic component accessories, indicating greater
investment by industry in Brazil in this sector. However, in 30 years there were only 134 deposited
patents, suggesting that the importation of products in the area is still great, which consequently makes
the products of this area more expensive. Thus, investments in patents play an important role in
technological and economic development of a country.
