Abstract: The aim of this study is to see how levels of diversity contribute to the

creation of software solutions. To this end, a controlled experiment was con-
ducted with Computer Science students, divided into groups with high and low

levels of diversity. In the experiment, participants were instructed to use Design
Thinking (DT) to develop software solutions. DT, as a user-centered approach,
benefits from collaboration in diverse teams, where multiple perspectives can
drive the generation of innovative solutions. The results indicate that the more
diverse teams employed a greater number of DT techniques. However, when
assessing the relevance of the requirements developed, there were no significant
differences between the groups, suggesting that diversity impacts more on the
creative process than on the final quality of the deliverables.

Abstract: This study investigated the development of software engineering competencies through the participation of 10 students in an academic Research and Development (R\D) project. Interviews and an analysis of the Pedagogical Project of the Software Engineering Course at the Federal University of Ceará were used. The results indicated that communication, teamwork, and creativity were the most developed skills, followed by competencies in requirements, design, and software management. Furthermore, prior work experience positively influenced competency development, while project time and participation in other projects did not have a significant influence. Therefore, it was possible to conclude that specific academic projects provide relevant formative environments, but gaps such as entrepreneurship and new software production models still require attention in training.

Autor(es): Oliveira, Lince Sena de
Abstract: Gamification incorporates various elements that can be combined in different ways, making it relevant to investigate how different gamification systems impact the teaching and learning process, even in similar contexts. This article explores a gamification strategy applied to Software Quality in an undergraduate course in Software Engineering. This gamification strategy uses
badges to record student progress, evolving from a previous strategy that used
sticker albums. The player profiles of the students were identified to allow an
analysis of their motivation and engagement after the experience from the pers-
pective of different profiles. There was more significant variation regarding the
different types of players, even though most of the perceptions were positive.
