dc.description.abstract	The objective of the present study is to present the concept of human rights and, thus, to con-struct a brief reflection on this theme in the work of Tomás de Aquino. The study is guided mainly by the analysis of specific parts of the Summa Theológica. It deals with the discussion, developed by Tomás de Aquino, about natural law and the human person. For the scholastic, it is only possible to think, in the field of cosmoethics, of a human person if, before this one, there is the divine person. The human being has a double responsibility: he is responsible for the world and for nature and must guarantee the respect, integrity and dignity of human life. Finally, it is stated that the themes of natural law and human dignity, developed by Tomás de Aquino, are oneof the modern foundations of human rights.	pt_BR

dc.description.abstract-ptbr	O objetivo do presente estudo é apresentar o conceito de direitos humanos e, assim, construir uma breve reflexão sobre esta temática na obra de Tomás de Aquino. O estudo é orientado principalmente pela análise de partes específicas da Suma Teológica. Tratada discussão, de-senvolvida por Tomás de Aquino, sobre o direito natural e a pessoa humana. Para o escolástico, só é possível se pensar, no campo da cosmoética, em pessoa humanase, anteriormente a esta, houver a pessoa divina. O ser homem tem uma dupla responsabilidade: é responsável pelo mundo e pela natureza e deve garantir o respeito, a integridade e a dignidade da vida humana. Por fim, afirma-se que os temas do direito natural e da dignidade da pessoa humana, desenvol-vidos por Tomás de Aquino, são uma das bases modernas dos direitos humanos	pt_BR
