Tipificação dos produtores do Vale do Forquilha, em Quixeramobim-Ceará

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to typify the producers of the Riacho Forquilha Valle, in Quixeramobim, Ceará. The data were gathered by 94 questionnaires, on October of 2007, out of a universe of 790 producers. It was applied the factorial analysis method. As result 6 types of producers were defined. The main conclusions were that all types of producers were benefited from the substructure generated by the project Pingo D’água; there was a paradox in the identified types, the financial instability of those who adopted the modern technologies and those who caused great positive impacts in the whole Valle, perhaps in Ceará, leaving out the condition of subsistence peasant to micro-entrepreneur of irrigated agriculture (horticulture and fruit production); the husbandry established as the main economic activity of the Valle; and the classification of producers into types must be the first task of the credit agents and technical assistance in a geographic area.
