dc.description.abstract	The sociologist and philosopher Herbert Marcuse (1898-1979) was responsible for a theoretical construction inspired by Karl Marx. The central purpose of this project is to rescue Mark's ideas collated with those of Marcuse showing how Marcuse's thought crossed the twentieth century and it remains current, controversial and challenging. Marcuse demands to recover the conceptual basis of the Marxist tradition, with the perspective of understanding the elements that support the current imperialist model and the possibilities of its confrontation and overrun.	pt_BR
