Abstract

It analyzes the Cultural Map Platform of Ceará as a collection of culture of the State of Ceará, in order to know the contribution of this platform to the local culture. The study is important for the cultural digital preservation and access to this information, with the local community as the most interested. To answer the generating question, I try to understand the concept of digital platform and importance to the local culture; understand their intention in mapping the local culture, its functions and models; and examine the Cultural Map of Ceará in depth, its tools, strengths and weaknesses, potentialities and know how it works. Thus, I present initial concepts for the understanding of digital platforms and the current local culture plan; treatment of the media tools in the diffusion of art and culture and what they add, introducing the base cultural map; and explore further the Cultural Map of Ceará. To deepen this study and know its application, I do a study with users and potential visitors of this platform, through a questionnaire enhanced by the snowball technique. This study is based on social research, with an exploratory character. Its main results are that the platform is still not well known, does not show clarity of use and what it came to, it contributes in part to the local culture, but it has great potential for far beyond to be an instrument of registration in cultural edicts if it is widely used, which is now provided for in Law 16.026 / 2016 and in the source code of its developer, the Tim Institute. I conclude and suggest improvements in the scope of digital preservation and government administration, information architecture and interaction by local developers, and encouragement to use by society, as it is the largest interested in culture and information, are the constitutional rights of every citizen.
