Abstract

Starting from Theodor Adorno's essay "The Psychological Techniques of Martin Luther Thomas," in which the theorist discusses the elements of the prejudiced discourse from Nazi leaders that reproduced intolerance and undemocratic thinking in their form of transmission, in the radio lectures of the Pastor Martin Luther Thomas - and make reference of the Frankfurt School, this work is intended to identify people between the speeches of the fascist agitators (the term "agitator" here refers to the Führer, leader of the masses in Nazi Germany). The object of analysis will be the speech of the presenters of police programs, using social theory and psychoanalysis, as the Frankfurtian theorists did. In the course of the work, beyond emerging issues such as violence marketed as entertainment, the broadcasting of news that reach the viewer through the emotional path and the spectacularization of violence caused by social inequality. The presenter’s speech is conservative and support the idea that public safety is the main alternative to the problem of urban violence; it also relies on the ideas of "authority", "order", sensationalism and always seeks to pass a close relationship with the viewer through this discourse.
