Percepção dos gestores da Universidade Federal do Ceará sobre a influência do cerimonial de colação de grau na identidade organizacional da UFC

Abstract

The University should not only be a supplier of knowledge, but should also be concerned with the institutional identity recognized by its members, and the graduation ceremony is a significant element in the formation of that perception. For this purpose, the general objective of this study is to identify the perceptions of the Federal University of Ceará’s managers about the influence of the graduation ceremony on the institutional identity of the University. This research has qualitative and quantitative basis, besides characterizing itself as descriptive. The present study also has as a data collection technique the interview and as an instrument of collection the Likert Scale, questionnaire and interview script. The analysis of the data was made from the information collected with the managers of the Rectory and the semi structured interviews conducted with the head of the Ceremonial of this institution and with the coordinators of the academic unit FEAACS. It concludes that graduation ceremony is an instrument that influences the institutional identity of the UFC, and this is done through its acting as opinion form about this institution, enhancing the identity of the University through the execution of this ceremony, which is surrounded by rites, rituals and symbols, and that through this ceremony is possible to strengthen the institutional values as well as the culture of the organization. Besides strengthening and awakening the feeling of belonging and accomplishment by the teachers.
