A ética em Hobbes

Abstract

This dissertation aims to analyze the ethics in Hobbes from what the philosophical tradition accepts as political theory in the philosopher of Malmesbury, namely, The Elements of 1640, Do Citizen of 1642 and Leviathan of 1651. And still the texts that became known as the controversies with the Anglican bishop Bramhall between 1654 and 1655. For that reason it was chosen to divide the work in three parts; in the first, the structure of reality in which men are inserted as bodies in movement will be thematized. However, man has the specificity of the language with which he names the objects of his sensibilities. In the second chapter Hobbesian anthropology is made explicit through what is here judged fundamental characteristics of the human being. In this way the passion and its place of manifestation, that is, custom, language and reason are thematized. And finally, in the third chapter we will define the Hobbesian ethics that is assumed to be a sensual ethic, that is, it is a free action because it is the result of liberation and the human will for this reason, but from the sensible objects.
