Abstract

The memory is a collective construction constantly reconstructed on the pillars of the human existence. Is a cognitive collection composed of several texts, each one with your own texture, but with a reference to a larger collection the memory. Leaving of that idea of the memory as a collection to present research aimed at to study the popular memory as source of cultural information, in the cultural expressions and in the residents' of the Sítio Santo Antônio, cognitive texts, through the oral history, to identify and to collect, the individuals' interviewed information concerning your habits, traditions, values, faiths and you know, being verified the collections of your memory if constitute as source of cultural information. It takes as focus the life histories, legends, prayers, wheel music and drama as well as the popular experiences. Tells on the social memory, oral history and sources of information. The research is of qualitative stamp, leans on in the community's several people's oral sources and another that had important information concerning the theme searched. The present research will contribute so that the community of the Sítio Santo Antônio works the cultural information efficiently that the reconstruction of your memory will bring.
