Estudo histórico do modo imperativo nas Cantigas de Santa Maria

Abstract

This research aims at mapping and analyzing the imperative verbal forms in Archaic Portuguese (AP). The corpus will be composed by Cantigas de Santa Maria. The relevance of this research consists in analyzing the morphological structure of imperative verbal forms, that has not been studied yet regarding the verbal formation in Archaic Portuguese. The main goal is to show whether the imperative morphological structure in AP already worked as an independent mood or not, as well as helping to understand the history of the language, in the sense of elucidating some important facts of the linguistic past of Portuguese that can help to understand facts of its contemporary structure.
