(Re)pensando a história do futebol cearense: dos primeiros passos à profissionalização

Abstract

This article discusses aspects of daily life in Fortaleza in the first half of the twentieth century by giving importance to the population of Fortaleza free time, ie, evaluating the social significance of the activities performed during leisure time, in this case, the soccer. In this sense, it seeks in the sport that originated in England and that adapted quickly to Brazil analyzes issues that needed to foster a complementary knowledge society of the time, such as the origin elitist sport, aspects which emerge from a layer favored local social, racial issues with the growing involvement of men of color in football, in which we investigate how racism was reflected at the time, the sport as a profession or as leisure, women's participation in football and also the impact of the popularization of football in the most conservative of the population, which sought to moralize the habits and customs of the citizens. We trace in this article have been consolidated as the roots of a more organized football and "telespetacularizado" as currently practiced from the time of the characteristics of this sport in Fortaleza in this time.
