The amount of italian immigrants chat carne to São Paulo ar the end of 19 th century and the beginning of the 20 th century, parriciped intensively in rhe brasilian industry development, Thus, na investigation about the italian immigrant of the post-Second World War became pertinent, because that differs from the one that preceded ir. The intresr of the brasilian rulers was receiving qualified manpower besides the eugenic concerm: the arrival of immigrants from western Europe. The italian government stimulared it's compatriots to emmigrate in order to send profirs to Italy - wich greatly helped che contry to be economically re- built - and also to reduce the social tensions brought about by unemployment. By means of the testimoy of the immigrants that came to São Paulo to work, we could assess cheir contribution for brasilian industry development and find out that manpower qualification.
