| Abstract in Portuguese: | O presente trabalho teve como objetivo investigar as políticas linguísticas percebidas (crenças) dos estudantes timorenses em relação ao ensino e aprendizagem de português. Para tanto, adotamos a noção multidimensional de política linguística de Spolsky (2004, 2009, 2012) e aplicamos um instrumento de coleta de dados com timorenses que estavam cursando graduação em uma universidade brasileira. A análise quantitativa dos dados indico cinco blocos de crenças que foram considerados importantes para os estudantes, a saber: a valoração positivada língua portuguesa em Timor Leste, a valorização de um ensino tradicional e de um ensino não tradicional, a importância da correção do erro e a dificuldade de aprender português. |
| Abstract: | The present study aimed to investigate the perceived language policies (beliefs) of Timorese students in relation to teaching and learning Portuguese. For this, we adopt the multidimensional notion of language policy of Spolsky (2004, 2009, 2012) and applied a tool for collecting data with Timorese who were attending graduate in a Brazilian university. Quantitative analysis of the data indicated five blocks of beliefs that wereconsidered important for students to know: a positive evaluation of the Portuguese language in East Timor, the appreciation of a traditional teaching and a non-traditional teaching, the importance of error correction and the difficulty of learning Portuguese. |
