| Abstract in Portuguese: | Na tragédia grega, a relação deuses/homens se estabelece pela piedade que esses últimos devem ter para com os primeiros; o homem impiedoso é punido, muitas vezes, com a loucura. Intentamos, pois, analisar a demência humana nas tragédias Agamêmnon, de Ésquilo, Ájax, de Sófocles, e Héracles e Bacantes, de Eurípides, cujas personagens enlouquecem para, em seguida, serem aniquiladas pelos deuses. |
| Abstract: | In Greek tragedy the relationship between gods and humans is established through piety that the latter should devote to the former ones. The impious is often punished with insanity. My intention here is to analyze human dementia in Agamemnon by Aeschylus, Ajax by Sophocles and Heracles and Bacchae by Euripides whose characters went insane, and, afterwards, were annihilated by the gods. |
