dc.description.abstract	Semantics and Syntax tend to be worked in isolation. This brings difficulties to students who do not see the integration of both areas essential to the development of a foreign language class. In addition, for some teachers such division also causes problems in the student’s understanding of a text as a whole. For this reason our purpose was to analyze the road taken by the students towards syntactic-semantic understanding in foruns of the English language, understand the tutor’s orientation when the road taken was not the right one as well as to know the student’s response to this guidance. So this investigation is based on the studies of Cunha & Tavares (2007), Cunha & Souza (2011), Lopes (2009 and 2011), Pezzati (2004) and Halliday (1976). The study revealed 60% of mistakes in the initial part of the forum being these mistakes reduced to 38,6%.This way it is possible to reduce the student’s syntaticsemantic poverty.	pt_BR

dc.description.abstract-ptbr	A semântica e a sintaxe tendem a ser trabalhadas de forma isolada. Isso traz dificuldades aos alunos que não vêm a integração de ambas as áreas, essenciais ao desenvolvimento da aula de língua estrangeira. Além do mais, para alguns professores, tal divisão também causa problemas na compreensão de um texto, por parte do aluno. Por esse motivo, nosso propósito foi o de analisar o caminho percorrido pelo aluno para chegar ao entendimento sintático-semântico em fóruns de língua inglesa, entender a orientação do tutor quando o caminho percorrido não for o correto, bem como saber como o aluno responde à essa orientação. Assim, essa investigação é baseada nos estudos de Cunha & Tavares (2007), Cunha & Souza (2011), Lopes (2009 and 2011), Pezzati (2004) e Halliday (1976). O estudo revelou 60% dos erros na parte inicial dos fórum, tendo esses erros sido reduzidos para 38,6%. Dessa forma, é possível reduzir a pobreza sintático-semântica dos alunos.	pt_BR
