Redes sociais e bibliotecas universitárias: estudo exploratório em bibliotecas de instituições públicas de ensino superior de Fortaleza

Abstract

In this work we are focused in understanding how Public Libraries, for undergraduate and graduate courses of Fortaleza city, are making use social network on Internet. We also identified the social networks they typically using. We present concepts of this kind of Library and social networks in general. We used an exploratory research and numerical and subjective analysis of data gathering from the research. In the field we applied forms in order to receive answers for our investigation. Our locus was composed by Libraries from: Federal University of Ceará, Federal Institute of Education and Science and Technology of Ceará. We realized that almost all Libraries usually make use of social networks, however, their approach is not suitable, partially explained by absence of training, planning and human resources. In our conclusion, we emphasize that social networks are relevant tools for Libraries and their communication and publicity strategies, but it still requiring planning, training and support, in order to give for their respective librarians, all technical knowledge involved.
