| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | Analisa a importância da leitura, como processo, para a formação do cidadão da sociedade de massa e defende que a leitura é capaz de influir diretamente na ascensão social das pessoas, pelos caminhos práticos que ela abre, pelo enriquecimento cultural que proporciona e pela capacidade de diferenciação que efetiva: o leitor competente nunca será mais um na multidão. |
| Abstract: | It analyzes the importance of the reading, as process, for the citizen‘s formation of the mass society and defends that the reading is capable to influence directly the social ascension of the people, by the practical ways that it opens, by the cultural enrichment who it provides and by the capacity of differentiation that it accomplishes: the competent reader never will be plus one in the multitude. |
