dc.description.abstractThis study which involved students from the 4th and 8th years of three public schools, had as its principal objectives to discover the metric indicatores of the non verbal inteligence test (NVI), a reasoning test and to establish the level of cognitive development of the students involved in the research. The tests indicated adequate precision and validity with regard to their objectives. The students of the 4th year showed that they had arrived at the concrete operative stage, while the students of the 8th year showed an average performance of 40,8 on the NVI (the maximum mark being 60) and 10,5 on the reasoning test (lhe maximum mark here being 39).pt_BR

dc.description.abstract-ptbrA presente pesquisa envolvendo alunos da 4ª e 8ª séries de três escolas da rede pública estadual teve como principais objetivos determinar os indicadores métricos do teste INV e de um teste de raciocínio e caracterizar o nível de desenvolvimento cognitivo dos sujeitos pesquisados. Os testes apresentaram precisão e validade adequadas para seus objetivos. Os alunos da 4a série demonstraram terem atingido o estágio operatório concreto. Já os alunos da 8ª série tiveram desempenho médio de 40,8 no INV (nota máxima 60) e 10,5 no teste de raciocínio (nota máxima 39).pt_BR
