Comportamento defensivo: uma estratégia para suportar o sofrimento no trabalho

Abstract

This exploratory study aims to identify the defensive strategies used by the worker, in order to avoid or to minimize the psychic suffering generated by the impositions of work's organization. For such, four group interviews were undertaken with engineers from the technical area of a tele communication's instituition. The basis for the analisys of the quality of information obtained was the interpretation of the worker's speech. Rationalization, individualism and passivity were identified as the main strategies. The use of these defenses allows the worker to keep his psychic balance and, simultaneously colaborates to the alienation of the causes of his suffering, thus creating handcaps to the worker's situations process of change.
