This research, presented in five sections, shows the literature review about the development and utilization of software for electronic standardization of documents, analysis of the information and communication technologies (ICTs) for managing information and the ABNT norms, discussion and choice of freeware and the development of a model of academic text normalization. The main objective was to contribute for assuring the standard and quality of the FUC' s technician-scientific production, as well as simplifying the more accurate search and recovery of information at the University. Relying on eletronic papers searched in the internet and specific monographs, it was possible to identify the main characteristics (advantages and disadvantages) of the more recognized software managers of bibliographical databases in the national and international market. It was observed the importance of utilizing technological tools for the production of academic texts and the development of a technological framework well suited to the FUC's necessities. One obstacle to the full success of the research was the linguistic barrier due to the lack of literature in Portuguese language, in order to give the necessary theoretical base for a deep discussion of the research topic. The output of this research was the development of a conceptual model of a normatization software for FUC' s academic texts, the GÊNESIS. This study also suggests the necessity of creating a multidisciplinary team composed of librarians, system analysts specialized in Linux platform and undergraduate and graduate managers to develop the electronic tool and its instalation at the FUC. The study stands out the improvement of the offering services, focusing the importance of the automation process of the routines, aiming at a bigger speed in the attendance and the rendering services. It presents the software Pergamum implanted by the UFC libraries system and look for knowing the opinion of the users in relation to the automation loan with the intention to get subsidies to evaluate the adequacy of software to the necessities of the same ones. It presents research that purpose to detect the strong and weak points of the loan, looking for giving support to the future administrative resolutions as well as, collect suggestions of the users for the improvement of the service. The results show that although the real difficulties of the automation, it was considered satisfactory. The files became shorter and the concept attributed by the users was in a scale of “good” to “satisfactory”.
