Abstract: Engineering courses have offered a large number of places for admission in the most&#xD;
diverse modalities, however, in recent years, despite this large offer, an increase in the&#xD;
dropout rate and the difficulty for these students to remain during the course has been&#xD;
noticed, Therefore, the present work aims to map the main difficulties presented by&#xD;
students recently arriving in Higher Education, more precisely in the Mechanical&#xD;
Engineering course offered by the Federal University of Ceará. To this end, descriptive&#xD;
and applied research was used as a data collection method, through the theoretical&#xD;
foundation and analysis of the main variables existing in the teaching and learning&#xD;
process. With the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the data collected, it was&#xD;
found that difficulties with the large volume of content presented during the course,&#xD;
together with problems in choosing the best study strategy, directly affected the&#xD;
student's performance. Deficiencies found in the establishment of basic subjects, seen&#xD;
during High School, also constituted obstacles in teaching. Added to these points were&#xD;
problems with social and interpersonal relationships. Finally, through the case study&#xD;
carried out with the application of questionnaires, it was possible to verify that the&#xD;
scenario in which the student found himself when entering college was a challenge,&#xD;
requiring him to recycle his old knowledge and establish plans to acquire new ones.

Abstract: The Finite Element Method (FEM) has been continuously used in the design of automotive&#xD;
components and systems, such as in the design of Baja SAE prototypes. Among the main&#xD;
difficulties associated with computational modeling from the FEM, there is the determination&#xD;
of the loads to be applied in the developed structural models, when these are most requested&#xD;
from the interaction between the vehicle and the road. The present work focused on the&#xD;
structural analysis of the roll cage of a Baja SAE from the construction of a dynamic multibody&#xD;
model of the SB-20 - prototype of the “Siará Baja” local extension project - of the four-post&#xD;
track simulator type, mitigating the difficulty associated with the quantification of loads, from&#xD;
the perspective of the vehicle as a system excited by the base. The materials and methods used&#xD;
for the structural analysis include the construction of the excitation functions of the system -&#xD;
taken from the synthesis of the vehicle operating profile -, the construction of the mechanical&#xD;
model of finite elements - from the stages of general conception, preparation of geometry,&#xD;
elasto-plastic model, mass distribution and general description - modal analysis, transient&#xD;
structural analysis, dynamic system response analysis and static and fatigue failure analysis.&#xD;
From the elaborated, results were obtained for the transmissibility of displacement, acceleration&#xD;
of the sprung mass in function of the driver comfort, safety factors for static failure and time of&#xD;
operation of the vehicle until fatigue failure. In conclusion, the computational modeling&#xD;
strategies used for the construction of the mechanical model proved to be effective, the model&#xD;
developed showed satisfactory mechanical behavior and the roll cage, component of analysis,&#xD;
obtained results compatible with the operation requirements, with static failure being its critical&#xD;
failure mode.

Abstract: In a vehicle, the most capable sistems to avoid acidentes are brake and steering. Specially the&#xD;
the brake sistem, that has the extremly important task of deccelerating the vehicle in a safe and&#xD;
eficiente way, despite the surrounding conditions. Thus, this work will approach a design&#xD;
methodology of a Baja SAE brake sistem, wich is a Vehicle built by college students from many&#xD;
universities who have in mind a competition, on wich the designs will be judged and ranked. For&#xD;
such vehicles, beyond the driver´s and vehicle’s structure safety, there is one more concerning&#xD;
in the case the brake sistem doesn’t work correctly, this concerning is the disqualification of the&#xD;
team from the competition. To build a solid and reliable methodology, in this job i will talk about&#xD;
the differents kinds of brake sistems availables on the market and their basic components, also&#xD;
was made a recomendation about the best combination of triggering method and the triggered&#xD;
assembly, so, this methodology was built considering a hydraulic system with disc-calliper&#xD;
assembly at the wheels. At first, the vehicle behavior during the braking was explained by doing&#xD;
an analisys of the longitudinal vehicle dynamics, further was shown how to calculate the braking&#xD;
power of the system by calculating the braking torque and braking forces that it is able to&#xD;
generate. This writing was built for the engeneering students, specially the ones who participate&#xD;
on a Baja team and are responsibles by the brake design of it’s team, and with a main goal to&#xD;
enlight and provide a guide on how to choose your componentes and design your system. When&#xD;
puted to test at the regional competition SAE Northeast 2020, the showed methodology came out&#xD;
to be satisfactory by receiving the third place on the design presentation.

Abstract: The collection and standardization of maintenance records within a company are essential, as&#xD;
they will be the basis for decision-making by the management team. To optimize this process,&#xD;
large companies often employ integrated or outsourced systems to carry out this crucial task.&#xD;
However, not all companies can afford the licensing costs associated with these mentioned&#xD;
software solutions, so alternative options must be considered. With the growth of technology&#xD;
and automation, low-code development tools that require minimal or no coding are becoming&#xD;
increasingly popular due to their practicality and efficiency compared to traditional&#xD;
development methods.Therefore, this work will introduce a “no-code” development technology&#xD;
called “Bubble”, and an application will be developed for the collection, standardization, and&#xD;
organization of these maintenance records, which will later be used to create indicators to assist&#xD;
in the company's maintenance planning. The system was implemented in a textile industry&#xD;
within the spinning sector, specifically for a type of machine called “Open End” used for&#xD;
spinning elements. Finally, the system yielded positive outcomes concerning cost reduction and&#xD;
potential for delivering indicator results.
