    <title>Os resultados da inovação e o desempenho das empresas inovativas cearenses</title>

    <description>Título: Os resultados da inovação e o desempenho das empresas inovativas cearenses
Autor(es): Rolim, Germana Ferreira
Abstract: Innovation was identified as the major cause of national progress by its impact on investment,&#xD;
production, employment and population welfare level. Furthermore, it is considered a strategy&#xD;
of great influence on business performance. Although established in theory, this relationship&#xD;
has evidences of empirical difficulties, which has aroused the interest of researchers. This&#xD;
relationship investigation is of great importance not only for the role of innovation in modern&#xD;
societies, but also because its adoption implies the willingness to take risks and incur&#xD;
additional costs, requiring thus the mobilization of extra resources by companies. The issue is&#xD;
particularly crucial for small and medium companies, due to the fact that innovation may&#xD;
represent important source of competitive advantage to those enterprises that are still&#xD;
characterize by the scarcity of financial and human resources, even for the development of the&#xD;
traditional activities . Taking all of these aspects as presented, this study evaluates the impact&#xD;
of the results of innovation in business performance, by studying the experience of innovative&#xD;
companies from Ceará. For this analysis, innovation is understood as a process composed of&#xD;
different steps: i) entries - related to innovative activities, ii) the orientation to innovation&#xD;
how the company organizes itself to process the inputs and iii) the results of innovation - the&#xD;
number of patents, new services, processes and products for the company. About this&#xD;
performance, which is ultimately a general perception about the results of the firm, it is also a&#xD;
complex phenomenon characterized by several dimensions. The survey begins with a review&#xD;
that aims to choose a theoretical model and the selection of a secondary database. The&#xD;
research model chosen is related to innovation performance, product and process, with the&#xD;
company's performance expressed by the net result, market expansion and market opening.&#xD;
This model also has a moderating variable size and origin of the company's capital. Data&#xD;
analysis, the second stage of the research was divided into descriptive analysis of aggregate&#xD;
data and multivariate data analysis of Ceará companies, using at this case linear and logistic&#xD;
regression. The figures assume that the dependent and independent variables are removed&#xD;
from the database PINTEC, research that is conducted every three years by the IBGE. From&#xD;
estimates, it follows that the outputs of innovation impact on the business performance of&#xD;
Ceará, when this is measured by market opening. It was further found that both types of&#xD;
outputs - process and product - have different impacts on performance. The innovations of&#xD;
new products on the market are positively an impact performance, while the innovations of&#xD;
existing processes are negatively an impact the performance. The relationship between&#xD;
innovation output and performance could not be proven to the other dimensions of&#xD;
performance analysis - market expansion and net income. The characteristics of innovative&#xD;
firms in Ceará, company size and source of capital, were confirmed as relationship&#xD;
moderators. The larger firms whose capital are from a national origin has been identified as&#xD;
more innovative than small firms and firms of origin of foreign capital.

Abstract: Web accessibility is one of the big challenges in the Computer Science&#xD;
research. There are many initiatives that aim to improve systems, in order that&#xD;
users with disabilities and other special needs have plain access to information&#xD;
and services available on the Internet. One of them is the system presented here,&#xD;
WNH, a Web Navigation Helper, created to support users with special needs do&#xD;
activities on the Internet, through mediation dialogs, previously developed, with&#xD;
a specialized editor, by users interested in helping these people. We present in&#xD;
the text, the description of the developed tools (the editor and the helper) and the&#xD;
analysis of three exploratory studies done, before and after the system&#xD;
development. We also show how the experiments revealed social and cultural&#xD;
aspects of Brazilian society, that are relevant to the WNH design, and we show&#xD;
how they changed our initial vision of the system. There was necessary to&#xD;
rethink the tool, in order to take account on the cultural variable in its&#xD;
development and evaluation.

    <title>A conjectura de Tuza sobre triângulos em grafos</title>

    <description>Título: A conjectura de Tuza sobre triângulos em grafos
Autor(es): Freitas, Lucas Ismaily Bezerra
Abstract: In this thesis we study the conjecture of Tuza, which relates covering of triangles (by edges) with packing of edge-disjoint triangles in graphs. In 1981, Tuza conjectured that for any graph, the maximum number of edge-disjoint triangles is at most twice the size of a minimum cover of&#xD;
triangles by edges. The general case of the conjecture remains open. However, several attempts to prove it appeared in the literature, which contain results for several classes of graphs. In this thesis, we present the main known results for the conjecture of Tuza. Currently, there are several versions of Tuza’s conjecture. Nevertheless, we emphasize that our focus is on conjecture applied to simple graphs. We also present a conjecture that, if verified, implies the validity of the conjecture of Tuza. We also show that if G is a mininum counterexample to the conjecture of Tuza, then G is 4-connected. We can deduce from this result that the conjecture of Tuza is&#xD;
valid for graphs with no K5 minor.

    <title>On Rich Modal Logics</title>
    <link>http://repositorio.ufc.br/handle/riufc/9589</link>
    <description>Título: On Rich Modal Logics
Autor(es): Dodó, Adriano Alves
Abstract: This thesis is about the enrichment of modal logics. We use the term enrichment&#xD;
in two distinct ways. In the first of them, it is a semantical enrichment. We propose a&#xD;
fuzzy semantics to di erent normal modal logics and we prove a completeness result&#xD;
for a generous class of this logics enriched with multiple instances of the axiom of&#xD;
confluence. A curious fact about this semantics is that it behaves just like the usual&#xD;
boolean-based Kripke semantics for modal logics. The other enrichment is about the&#xD;
expressibility of the logic and it occurs by means of the addition of new connectives,&#xD;
essentially modal negations. In this sense, firstly we study the positive fragment of&#xD;
classical logic extended with a paraconsistent modal negation and we show that this&#xD;
language is su ciently strong to express the normal modal logics. It is also possible&#xD;
to define a paracomplete modal negation and restoration connectives that internalize&#xD;
at the level object-language the notions of consistency and determinedness. This&#xD;
logic constitutes a Logic of Formal Inconsistency and a Logic of Formal Undeterminedness.In such logics, with the objective of recovering lost inferences of classical logic,&#xD;
Derivability Adjustment Theorems are proved. In the case of the logic with one paraconsistent negation, if we remove the implication we still have a rich language, with both paranormal negations and its respective connectives of restoration. In this logic we study the minimal normal modal logic defined by means of a Gentzen calculus, differently&#xD;
of the others modal systems studied, which are presented by means of Hilbert&#xD;
calculus. Next, after we prove a ompleteness result of the deductive system associated to this calculus, we present some extensions of this system and we look for appropriate Derivability Adjustment Theorems.
