    <title>Hybrid position controller for an indirect field-oriented induction motor drive</title>

Abstract: This paper presents the study and implementation of a hybrid position controller for an indirect&#xD;
field-oriented induction motor drive. In order to improve&#xD;
the position tracking performance of an induction motor&#xD;
drive, a design procedure of a hybrid controller is developed based on the conventional Proportional (P) controller&#xD;
and the Generalized Predictive Control (GPC) controller.&#xD;
The fuzzy logic is utilized to achieve the hybridization&#xD;
between the P and GPC controllers. The P is adopted&#xD;
because its parameter values can be simple chosen with an&#xD;
aggressive tuning (fast response), while the GPC controller&#xD;
enhances the robustness and has a moderate controller&#xD;
action. Then, the position control loop is regulated with&#xD;
the hybrid controller, while the speed and currents loops&#xD;
incorporate PI (Proportional Integral) controllers. The&#xD;
proposed controller, simulations, implementation data,&#xD;
and test results with step, trapezoidal, triangular position&#xD;
profiles and step change in load, are given, discussed and&#xD;
verified. It is shown that the proposed position hybrid&#xD;
controller has a fast tracking capability to industrial&#xD;
robotics applications and it is robust to load disturbance.

Abstract: To ensure consistent reliability and proper&#xD;
operation, protective relay equipment must be evaluated and&#xD;
tested. This paper presents the requirements for testing the ac&#xD;
and d.c. auxiliary power supply of protective relays and the test&#xD;
results. The test severity levels, test set-up, test procedures and&#xD;
test report are presented according to the IEC60255-11 Ed.2.0.&#xD;
A numerical relay commonly found in the power distribution&#xD;
systems is used for testing. The tests are carried out to&#xD;
determine the ability of the relay to withstand a variety of&#xD;
disturbances as specified in the international standard.

    <title>Decentralised energy management system to virtual power plants</title>

    <description>Título: Decentralised energy management system to virtual power plants
Autor(es): Almada, Janaína Barbosa; Leão, Ruth Pastôra Saraiva; Lima, Carlos Felipe Parente; Rêgo, Marcos César Oliveira do; Antunes, Fernando Luiz Marcelo
Abstract: This paper focuses on the steady-state analysis of location and&#xD;
control of distributed power generators encompassing a virtual&#xD;
power plant (VPP). The significant increase worldwide in&#xD;
distributed generation from renewable energy has been largely&#xD;
due to the concern with the environment, the grid access and the&#xD;
strong support policies for the promotion of renewable&#xD;
electricity. Deployment of distributed power plants has&#xD;
contributed to the new concept of VPP as a solution to handle&#xD;
the mix of conventional and distributed energy sources.&#xD;
Produced energy from even small scale generators will be&#xD;
utilized in energy markets and can contribute to the&#xD;
enhancement of the electrical power system. When aggregated,&#xD;
the group of DG would gain access and visibility across the&#xD;
energy markets and the system operation will benefit from&#xD;
optimal use of all available capacity and increased efficiency of&#xD;
operation.

    <description>Título: Controllogger: A remote monitoring system for decentralized renewable energy sources
Autor(es): Brito, Fábio Timbó; Jucá, Sandro César Silveira; Carvalho, Paulo Cesar Marques de
Abstract: The development of a remote monitoring and control system for&#xD;
decentralized renewable energy plants is described in the present&#xD;
paper. The system has a microcontroller-based unit for local&#xD;
storing and data transmission to internet by a GSM modem and a&#xD;
database server to store the data. The proposed architecture is&#xD;
easily extended for controlling a decentralized renewable energy&#xD;
plant by a remote operator. Correlations and performance tests&#xD;
are used to compare the data collected by the system prototype&#xD;
with data collected by a commercial data acquisition system. The&#xD;
results indicate that the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) is&#xD;
0.103 m/s for the wind speed measurement and the correlation&#xD;
factor is greater than 0.9996. Overall, the low errors rates indicate&#xD;
that the data have been stored in a similar form to what would be&#xD;
expected with the use of a commercial data logger.
