The objectives were to introduce young people to the importance of prototyping a product before developing it and teaching prototyping in a participatory way, involving possible users of the product. The activity was carried out in six stages, using some participatory techniques. The results indicate that, even with some limitations, it was possible to achieve the proposed objectives, involving young people in a participatory way in prototyping the product, generating creative ideas. The Illustrated ABC seeks to explore the knowledge of the alphabet, in addition to other concepts of children's daily life such as fruits, means of transportation, human body, colors, geometric shapes, numbers and animals, aiming to help in teaching and learning of children who are in the literacy phase in a fun and playful way. However, these studies have been focusing only on technical and learning aspects, leaving sociocultural aspects of the students’ context aside. Therefore, a systematic mapping of the literature was carried out to investigate if and how the socio-cultural context of the students is being addressed in the initiatives to teach of Computational Thinking. From the selected articles it was found that the context of the students is being addressed, yet there is still a small number of studies that mention this condition.
