Abstract: The National Program for the Development and Structuring of Tourism (PRODETUR), established in 1991, encouraged tourism in Northeast Brazil, with an emphasis on the West Coast of Ceará. This research analyzes the resulting socioeconomic vulnerabilities in the municipalities of Acaraú, Caucaia, and Trairi, chosen for their proximity to Fortaleza (a major tourism hub) and&#xD;
according to a classification established by the Ministry of Tourism. Through secondary data and social indicators, it was noted that the program's effects were unequal among the locations: in Caucaia, an increase in real estate pressure was observed; in Trairi, cultural impacts and the loss of community traditions; and in Acaraú, insufficient adequate infrastructure. The study shows&#xD;
that despite the promotion of visibility and economic growth, social inequalities and territorial disputes persist, requiring more balanced public policies that can promote harmony between services and the well-being of residents.

Abstract: Caponga Beach, located in Cascavel, Ceará, Northeastern Brazil, has experienced socio-spatial transformations driven by tourism and the influence of nearby urban centers, particularly Fortaleza. This study investigates the formation and development of tourism in the area, considering internal and external factors, socio-environmental impacts, and residents’ perceptions. Using a qualitative approach complemented by quantitative data, the research identifies changes in land use, urban growth, and coastal environmental conditions, as well as effects on daily life and spatial organization. Public policies and private-sector initiatives emerge as key drivers of these transformations. Residents express both aspirations for development and concerns about environmental and territorial changes. The findings indicate that Caponga faces typical challenges of coastal areas undergoing touristification, highlighting the need for integrated planning strategies that balance tourism development, environmental preservation, and community&#xD;
well-being.

Abstract: This paper seeks to understand the spatial transformations and socio-environmental vulnerabilities that have occurred in the village of Preá, in Cruz-CE, due to the expansion of tourism, especially the influence of Jericoacoara. Throughout the research, it is notable how tourism, initially seen as a vector of development, has profoundly altered the local dynamic, changing the traditional way of life based on fishing and subsistence agriculture. With the increased circulation of tourists, the village's urbanization intensified, new ventures emerged, and the real estate market underwent strong appreciation, generating speculation and pressure on the territory. The effects caused by the construction of the Jericoacoara Airport and the implementation of public policies such as PRODETUR-NE were also analyzed. The data shows a significant population leap and the emergence of various commercial activities aimed at tourism, such as inns, restaurants, and shops. However, this disordered expansion brought challenges, such as compromising the natural landscape, the absence of adequate sanitary infrastructure, and an increase in waste production. From this, clear signs of environmental and socio-environmental vulnerabilities were identified, including risks of soil and aquifer contamination, coastal erosion, and the displacement of native residents. In the final section, I contribute by proposing that tourism in the region can be rethought under a sustainable logic, prioritizing the appreciation of local culture and ecological balance.

    <description>Título: Programa Minha Casa Minha Vida: do sonho da casa própria à negação dos serviços básicos. Caso do residencial Orgulho do Ceará II, em Pacatuba - CE
Autor(es): Carlos, Joana Malheiros
Abstract: In 2008, the international economic climate led the Brazilian government to adopt a series of countercyclical measures to mitigate the impact of the financial crisis on the country. Chief among these measures was the launch of the Minha Casa Minha Vida program in 2009. The program aimed to expand access to financed housing and, at the same time, boost the Brazilian economy by generating jobs and income in the construction sector. However, the government prioritized the growth of the construction and real estate sectors over addressing the housing shortage. Real estate agents were delegated the responsibility to determining the location of housing complex, which had negative consequences for residents and the state. This article analyzes access to essential services for residents of Residencial Orgulho do Ceará II, in the municipality of Pacatuba, Ceará. The analysis was based on the Urban Insertion Assessment Tool. Data were obtained through consultation with transportation companies, documentary research, field observations, interviews with residents, and the use of Google Earth and Maps. Seven years after the first housing units were delivered, residents continue to face problems related to the location of the development and the lack of public facilities.
