Autor(es): Andrade, Verônica; Rossi, Gabriel Augusto Marques
Abstract: Dermatophytosis is one of the most frequent anthropozoonoses on clinic of
company animals, affecting about 4 to 15% of dogs and more than 20% of cats worldwide. It is also known that around 30% of infections in humans are of zoonotic cause, with transmission occuring through direct contact with infected animals, or indirectly, by the exposure to spores in the environment. Thus, the objective of the present manuscript was to perform an updated literature review about the zoonotic and public health aspects of dermatophytosis in small animals, due its highly contagious aspect and the increasing importance for public and animal health.

Autor(es): Mota, Renan Guilherme; Marçal, Wilmar Sachetin
Abstract: In bovine farming, the productive system can be organized in three main steps, called create, to recreate and termination. The confinements appear as a model
alternative for the termination, which under multifactorial influence may or may not achieve higher yields can or not achieve higher profitability than grassland or semi-confinement. The raising of these questions is increasingly routine in a society that continually increases its demands on quality, good production practices, animal welfare, traceability and sustainability. In this work of revision will be approached the themes related to the natural behavior of cattle, the implications of behavior under confinement of animals and aspects of management and practices aimed at minimizing the negative effects. The alternatives presented converge with
economic aspects, animal welfare and productivity, and they must be applied according to the objective and the system adopted in each respective property.

Abstract: This study was developed in the city of Bom Jesus-PI, with the objective of
evaluating the labeling and fractionation of selected meat products from establishments with SIF. The data was collected in the three largest supermarket chains in the region, which sell their products in the form of wholesale. Visits occurred in the second half of 2016 and the first half of 2017, always in the first week of each month, one store per day, in any of the three periods, with a schedule and order chosen randomly. At each visit the data collection was performed through the application of checklist. Each product had a photographic record characterizing the conditions of sale, identification of the labeling and the nutritional information. The meat products selected were: sausage, salami, ham,
sausage, jerked beef and charqui meat. The evaluation of the nonconformities regarding the fractionation carried out by the establishments that market the cited products was also carried out. After analyzing the results, it was concluded that the supermarkets evaluated showed little variation in the distribution of the brands of the analyzed products. The percentage of nonconformities was higher in fractionated products, compared to the original products. Fractionated products do not display all the information necessary for consumer understanding, thus preventing product traceability.

Abstract: The objective of this study was to analyze and determine the economic loss
of the main causes of total condemnation of bovine carcasses in slaughterhouses under SIF inspection for the state of Mato Grosso from 2007 to 2017. Among the brazilian federative units, stands out the state of Mato Grosso which slaughtered 48,16 million cattle in the period from 2007 to 2017, corresponds to 18,75% of the national total. The economic loss was determined by multiplying the number of carcasses condemned totally by the average beef yield per carcass (which was 16 arrobas) by the arroba average annual price of beef meat. The main cause of the cases of condemnation total was the contamination and the economic loss was R$ 403,49 million. The factors that are associated with the occurrence of total
condemnations of bovine carcasses by contamination are inadequate animal fasting time during the pre-slaughter stage, inadequate animal and carcass washing, and operations failures bleeding, skinning, and evisceration of the carcass. Finally, the other causes were emphysema (R$ 123,90 million), anemic infarction (R$104,98 million), food aspiration (R$88,04 million) and urinary cyst (R$ 72,03 million).
