Título: Uso dos resultados da autoavaliação institucional na perspectiva dos gestores de uma universidade pública federal Autor(es): Silva, Maria do Socorro Maia; Soares, Maria Elias Abstract: With the implementation of the National System of Evaluation of Higher Education, approximately a decade ago, higher education institutions experienced a process of change that had repercussions on their organizational structure and on their design and model. Institutional evaluation becomes more and more important, especially with regard to the use of the results of the evaluation process as a subsidy for institutional improvement. Therefore, it is considered relevant and timely to conduct a study about the relationship between the results of the evaluations carried out and the management actions within the university. In this sense, the objective of this study is to analyze the repercussion of the results of the self assessment process carried out by the Self Evaluation Committee, within the scope of the management of a public institution, from the perspective of the management group. The study is characterized as an applied research, of a descriptive nature, with a quantitative and qualitative approach and a questionnaire composed of open and closed questions, applied to the managers, was used as instrument of data collection. The results show that although the managers conceive the data of the self-evaluation as an important management allowance, the use of this information is still punctual and does not constitute an institutionalized action in the university. The conclusions of the study present elements that can contribute to the formulation and improvement of the evaluation practice in the institution and to the advancement of the studies on the institutional evaluation in order to meet the objectives of National System of Evaluation. Título: Relação entre rendimento acadêmico, políticas de cotas e assistência estudantil em Campi do interior da Universidade Federal do Ceará Autor(es): Teixeira, Línnik Israel Lima; Soares, Maria Elias Abstract: This research aimed at verifying the performance of college students following the establishment of these quotas in public federal universities. We focused on newcomer students (2014.1, 2014. 2 and 2015.1) engaged in computer science studies from the Crateús, Quixadá and Russas campi, covering a total of ten undergraduate courses. We assessed the academic performance of individuals allocated into three major groups: students admitted through the quota program, students benefiting from federal assistance programs and non-quota students, i.e., admitted through general admission. Our theoretical framework was organized to explain the concept and establishment of affirmative actions in Brazil and worldwide and their convergence into the national undergraduate education scenario. The research, predominantly descriptive and documentary, conducted statistical analyses to compare the performance of the aforementioned groups. The results indicated that students accepted through general admission showed a higher average of academic performance index (índice de rendimento acadêmico, IRA) when compared to that from quota students, but this difference was not deemed significant. Concerning students benefiting from federal assistance programs, it was found that their averaged IRA was higher than the other groups, but again it was not statistically significant. Therefore, the performance of this group and the others is considered similar. Tipo: Artigo de Evento
