Abstract: This speech tries to fit in with the purpose of the Thematic Symposium 15, whose title is ―What reader is this? Childlike and youthful narratives and contemporaneity‖, from the IV International Congress of Linguistic and Literary Studies in the Amazon-IV CIELLA. Thus, this work has the objective of realizing like the reading, especially of the contemporary narratives, becomes fluid when let us a solid discussion, considering the posture and the optics of the hero. Besides, the works also owns the interest of demonstrating the form through the receptionof these literary texts happens nowadays, especially because of the power of the digital media to reinforce the hero‘s image. The research, of theoretical-bibliographic character, was based on authors like Umberto Ecco (2004), Flávio Martins (2010), Hunt (2010), among others who think over the building of the modern reader and the modern hero. With this idea, we will discuss like the contemporary reader realizes the character of the narratives and interacts with him. Thus, the literary corpus of this studyis the book Harry Poter and the philosopher‘s stone(2000), by the British writer J. K. Rowling. Through the performance of Harry, hero of the mentioned novel, we will draw up convergent and divergent points concerning his relation with the reader, especially, selecting pieces of information of the childhood and of the classic mythology that built empathy with the childlike and youthful reader public of nowadays.
