Abstract: The discipline of Design for Engineering (DPE) is offered in the first year of the Engineering of the UFC Technology Center, along with Calculus. According to data from the National Industrial Confederation (CNI 2015) together with data from the Ministry of Education (MEC), in Brazil on average, more than half of the students entering the Civil Engineering course drop out, one of the main causes being the lack of practical application in the first Years of the course. To change this scenario, innovative teaching methodologies were presented as alternatives to the traditional teaching method, as well as to enable practical project experiments in the basic cycle. GeoGebra is a free software developed for teaching and learning and brings together geometry, algebra, graphs, tables, probability, and symbolic calculations in a single environment. Thus, this research seeks a pedagogical strategy, using the research action and procedures of the case study with students of Civil Engineering of the UFC of 2015 and 2016, where the students executed the practices of Descriptive Geometry with instrumental design and later with use of GeoGebra, in a collaborative and participatory way. With the different representations of 3D objects that interact with each other, the students were able to integrate knowledge of Calculus and Design more actively. Solids unnoticed in the graphite sketch were seen in different forms and in different artifacts. The results are presented in graphs, based on the analysis of the questionnaires made with the participants. Students' motivation, the best academic performance, can be seen, combining traditional and innovative content and methods with a focus on learning.

Abstract: The last years, a lot of discussion has taken place concerning learning and teaching
methodologies, and particularly on engineering. As far as engineering is concerned, many
different approaches have been proposed, and the spectrum goes from works dealing with the
curriculum of courses to works related to the proposal of new teaching methodologies (e. g.,
PBL, CDIO, just to quote some), in addition to some individual ad-hoc approaches. At the
same time, the exponential technological advances in the last decade, have add up pressure
on those discussions, insomuch as the engineering’s courses curriculum has had to keep up
with that. As a result, a very important issue concerns the balance between theory and
practical activities in an engineering course. On the other hand, it is a fact that the
complexity of engineering projects has increased a lot, to the point that the professional of
one specific engineering area must deal not only with technical aspects of its area, but also
with those ones related to other ones. On the top of that, the engineer must consider in the
project other aspects such as environmental and psychological issues. In this paper is
discussed a proposal of a discipline with PBL ingredients and multi/interdisciplinary aspects
as a way of dealing with the questions above and that emulates an actual engineering
scenario to be encounter by the future engineer.

Abstract: This study aims to assess how is the progress of BIM education in design disciplines
for Engineering in CT-UFC and the comparison of the demands of the current market, with
visits to companies in the construction sector, which has been making platform use. The
specific objective is to make a critical analysis of the BIM platform deployment processes
adopted by leading companies. The work has the methodology, an internal evaluation of
descriptive literature review reveals that the diagnosis of the problems to be faced. In the
second level, a diagnosis from companies on the organizational design of the events and
documents workflow, as well as the evaluation of products and the use of transitions from 2D
CAD tools for modeling 3D BIM, parameterized. Then review what types of disciplines
understand the BIM platform and how this is happening within the Technology Center. The
first, in educational aspects, to evaluate the approach adopted in most of the course consists
of lectures, with the use of multimedia resources. Sometimes it is possible to invite
professionals from both academia and the market lectures on topics of interest to the scope of
the subject, offering a counterpoint to the traditional approach in the classroom. The
literature review results and local market experience, reveal the need for closer ties between
the sectors and the search for new lines of research and extension projects.

Abstract: Among the difficulties faced by the public school in the teaching-learning process, it is well known that the students' academic performance presents critical results mainly in the mathematics discipline, this factor is statistically proven through the results obtained by the diagnostic evaluation carried out annually by the Secretariat of Education of the State of Ceará (SEDUC). Faced with such a problem, it is imperative that educational projects be developed in order to facilitate direct interaction among members, providing knowledge sharing for the purpose of increasing academic achievement. In the midst of this context, an educational project based on Cooperative Learning (CA) methodology emerged. Its purpose was to improve the learning of high school students in the discipline of Mathematics by linking theory to the practice of civil engineering, so the project was termed as "The Mathematics Applied to Civil Construction". The program made it possible for envisaged students to enhance their social and emotional skills as students became able to work in teams, develop individual and group responsibility, and optimize study time. Given the results obtained, it was possible to perceive that CA brings benefits to the teaching-learning process, as it encourages the sharing of knowledge and makes learning more solid. It is believed that small projects like this provide great educational transformation and can gradually reshape the current educational system.
