Abstract: When addressing the issue of land ownership in Brazil, it becomes evident that women have historically been excluded from formal land rights, both due to patriarchal discourse practices and the lack of public policies that recognized their role in rural areas. In light of this reality, this research aims to present the importance of the Rural Women initiative, linked to the São José IV Project, for sustainable development in the state of Ceará. The investigation is characterized as a theoretical-empirical study, using the case study method and based on secondary sources such as scientific articles, books, and official documents, in order to understand the relevance of the aforementioned initiative. A mixed methodological approach is adopted, integrating elements of both qualitative and quantitative research to provide a broader and deeper understanding of the topic. The content analysis technique is also used to examine the data related to the beneficiaries of the initiative. The data reveal a high level of interest among women who met the criteria of the Rural Women public call, Public Notice n.° 001/2024. A total of 5,432 women applied, of whom only 200 were selected as beneficiaries of the São José IV Project. It is concluded that public policies aimed at sustainable rural development are essential for rural communities, especially for women and other historically marginalized groups, who find in these initiatives opportunities for inclusion and recognition of their contributions.

Abstract: One of the United Nations Sustainable Development goals is to access water and equitable sanitation for all, which includes the most socially vulnerable segment of the population. In this context, this study aimed to estimate the quality of water accessed by the homeless population (PSR) in the center of Fortaleza, Ceará. Seven sampling points were selected for different purposes (potability, bathing suitability, and excreta dilution), such as fountains, drains, and drinking fountains. The samples were conducted bimonthly from January to November 2024, and analyses were conducted at the Environmental Sanitation Laboratory (LABOSAN/UFC), considering bacteriological, physicochemical, and organoleptic parameters. The results showed
that, on average, 30%, 14%, and 26% of the samples presented nonconformities, respectively, for potability, bathing suitability, and excreta dilution, established by the Brazilian Health Ministry Ordinance No. 888/2021 and CONAMA Resolutions 274/2000 and 357/2005. The second stage of the research included remote turbidity estimation using Sentinel-2 imagery,
based on the sample collected from the water source in Passeio Público (Praça dos Mártires). The model provided reasonable performance, with a coefficient of determination R² > 0.5. It is noteworthy that turbidity is an indirect indicator of microbiological contamination, especially of thermotolerant coliforms. The results obtained in this research are expected to support public policy actions aimed at developing water distribution systems for the PSR that comply with legal standards.

Abstract: Due to its effects on the biosphere, the fashion industry has attracted significant attention in contemporary society. In this context, the work in question is dedicated to dealing with the environmental impacts triggered by fast fashion, a model of production and consumption that designates fast or accelerated fashion, whose main characteristics are the expressive rotation of trends and the unbridled disposal of clothing. Anchored in bibliography, we sought to understand the causes that fast fashion has on nature, investigating how this system contributes to the waste of natural resources and the generation of textile waste. In addition, inspired directly by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this study suggests fundamental ecological alternatives to mitigate these effects, favoring the permanence of life on the planet. The aim is to awaken a commitment to environmental responsibility in society, in line with the transformation of consumer habits, especially in the fashion sector
