Autor(es): Brandão, Paloma Vasconcelos
Abstract: This study explores how communication design contributes to immersive
environments in the life‑simulation franchise The Sims. Through a qualitative analysis of graphic elements across its four main editions (The Sims 1 - 4), it examines how visual resources enhance atmosphere and player engagement. Using morphological, syntactic, and semantic approaches, and grounded in authors such as Lupton, Dondis, and Lidwell, the research investigates how design choices reinforce realism and aesthetic coherence within simulated spaces. It also contextualizes the visual evolution of the franchise, discussing how graphic strategies align with cultural and technological trends over time. By bridging graphic design, visual communication, and digital game studies, the work highlights the role of visual elements in shaping credible narratives and immersive experiences, offering insights for the design of digital environments.

Abstract: This work explores how paper-based techniques such as cutting, folding, layering, and collage can be used to create a collection of dioramas depicting key scenes from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The project aims to conduct research and experimentation with various types of paper, tools, and techniques, as well as study the work of other artists who engage in similar practices. The objective is to develop a visual collection capable of illustrating part of the narrative of Alice in Wonderland. To support this, the paper discusses the chosen material—paper—its origins, historical significance, characteristics, and its relationship with design. It also examines the diorama as a representational technique, along with cutting and collage methods. Finally, the literary work of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, which serves as the central theme of the project, is addressed. This is a practice-based study focused on hands-on experimentation that culminates in the creation of a small collection of artistic artifacts

Autor(es): Busgaib, Daniel dos Santos
Abstract: This project proposes the creation of a xylotheque for academic use in Design courses
as both a design and educational tool. This model, named “Madeiroteca,” functions as
a compact artifact with high storage capacity and easy implementation. The project’s
goal is for it to be reproducible in different locations, however, the data collected here
serves as the basis for creating the Madeiroteca specifically for the Design course at
UFC, located in Fortaleza, Ceará. To support this, the historical context of biological
collections and xylotheques is explored, along with their relevance to the importance
of materials in the classroom. Additionally, the wide range of possibilities for applying
wood within the field of design is also examined

Autor(es): Souza, Sarah de Oliveira
Abstract: This paper explores the powerful relationship design can have with the indigenous graphics of the Tremembé people of Córrego João Pereira Village, viewed from a decoloniality perspective. The work was conducted in three methodological stages: experience report, iconographic study, and poster production. The experience report addressed the relationship with the Tremembé indigenous people, developed through the Design and Indigenous Graphic Memory Mentoring Program of the Ceará Design Center. In the iconographic study, seven indigenous graphics from Córrego João Pereira Village were analyzed using Panofsky's Iconological Method, focusing on the visual components and their relationships with culture, traditions, and nature, generating diverse graphic possibilities. The results were related to a creative process from a design perspective, seeking to understand how this can contribute to the conceptual practice of design. Finally, the culmination was the creation of the Siri-Ará series, composed of four different posters, encompassing aspects of the author's territoriality and subjectivity
