| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | As revisões bibliográficas desempenham um importante papel no compartilhamento do conhecimento, assim como contribuem para a transferência de informações entre especialistas e até não-especialistas em determinadas áreas. O presente trabalho trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica de publicações sobre a espécie de caranguejoermitão Clibanarius antillensis Stimpson, 1859. A busca foi realizada nas plataformas de dados científicos: Google Scholar, Researchgate, Scielo e ScienceDirect, utilizando como critério de busca o intervalo entre os anos de 1996 e 2021. Foram encontrados e analisados 31 artigos científicos. As publicações encontradas foram compiladas, analisadas e destas foram extraídas as informações mais relevantes e os resultados de seus experimentos, assim como foram catalogados os países de origem das publicações, seus autores e a quantidade de trabalhos por ano. Foi possível por meio deste estudo reunir informações sobre aspectos como: a morfologia do animal, sua distribuição geográfica, filogenia e relações de parentesco com outras espécies da mesma família, relações entre caranguejo e a concha que usa como abrigo, sua estrutura populacional, aspectos de reprodução e desenvolvimento, comportamento, dentre outros. Através deste trabalho foi possível identificar importantes informações sobre a espécie como, por exemplo, os tópicos que apresentam a maior quantidade de informações sobre a espécie que são: reprodução, relações entre o caranguejo e a concha e estrutura populacional, assim como perceber a escassez de dados em relação a dieta, muda, doenças e regeneração de membros perdidos. Observou-se também uma concentração de trabalhos na costa brasileira, ainda que a espécie possa ser encontrada em uma grande faixa litorânea e amplo número de ilhas do Atlântico. Este trabalho pôde contribuir para identificar estas lacunas que poderão ser preenchidas através de estudos futuros. |
| Abstract: | Bibliographic reviews have an important role in knowledge sharing, contributing to the exchange of information between specialists and non-specialists in certain areas. The present work is a bibliographic review of publications about the hermit crab species Clibanarius antillensis Stimpson, 1859, also comprising publications that involved more than one hermit crab species, being C. antillensis one of them. The search was performed on the scientific data platforms: Google Scholar, Researchgate, Scielo and ScienceDirect, using the interval between the years of 1996 and 2021 as a search criterion. A total of 31 scientific articles were found in the search. The publications found were compiled, analyzed and from these, the most relevant information and the results of their experiments were extracted, as well as were cataloged the countries of origin of the publications, their authors and the number of works per year. Through this study, it was possible to gather information on aspects such as: the animal's morphology, its geographic distribution, phylogeny and kinship relationships with other species of the same family, relationships between crab and the shell it uses as shelter, its population structure, aspects of reproduction and development, behavior, among others. Through this work it was possible to identify data about the species, for example, the topics that present the greatest amount of information about the species, which are: reproduction, relationships between crab and shell and population structure, as well as realizing the scarcity of information about diet, molting, disease and regeneration of lost limbs. There was also a concentration of publications on the Brazilian coast, although the species can be found in a large coastal strip and a large number of islands in the Atlantic. This work was able to contribute to identify these gaps that can be filled through future studies. |
