Pabllo Vittar e cultura gay: fluxos entre identidade e cultura

Abstract

The identity of the gay community in Brazil is shaping up under the strong influence of the celebrity drag figure, armed with the growing power of interaction of social networks. Drag art went through a long trajectory until it became the result of celebrations and consumption. In this scenario that Pabllo Vittar appears, becoming the object of this research: the artist LGBTQI+ has been reaching unimaginable spaces in an exponential way in the media through her music and montages, while also going through homophobic situations recurring on the internet by haters. His body, whether “mounted” as a drag artist, or naked, as an ordinary gay figure, extols the flag he belongs to. Pabllo Vittar carries millions of fans on social networks and great metrics wherever he goes, showing how the artist's imagetic figure has strong power of identification and representation with his consuming public. To reflect on identity, culture, media, postmodernity, cyberculture and semiotics of the image, theorists such as Thompson, Dizard, Geertz, Hall, Lemos, Joly, Tadeu and Daiolo will contribute. Contemporary researchers such as Colling, Amanajás, Gadelha, Reis (org)., Bragança, Lang (org.) And the like, who move between gay, queer culture and the artist's celebrations, will enrich the repertoire of this research. Finally, Pabllo Vittar, through the songs and career clips 'Seu Crime' and 'Indestructible', will be used as important cuts on the influence that his artistic work has, coming to the conclusion that Pabllo's drag art is a representation mass of LGBTQI+ contemporary youth culture. Through the image of an artist, Pabllo Vittar has the power to create, reproduce, influence and feed back trends of an entire generation.
